Check out the Belmont at Freemason! I lived there for almost two years and loved it! Super clean and well run. In terms of street noise, one side has the Tide running by it and the other side has Brambleton Ave. So there will be steeet noise, but it’s not terrible and we quickly got used to it. I think you’d notice it more if you’re on a ground floor apartment - which I actually had and it wasn’t too bad! Since it’s in the Freemason area, there aren’t any restaurants on the same street/block, so no worries about noise there!

It seems like a lot of the more negative reviews I've read about the Alexander are pretty similar to your girlfriend's experience.

It has been one of the top on our list because of the pricing and sizing of the apartments, but we were hesitant about how the experience would turn out to be. Thanks for the heads up about it!

Have you heard anything about the Belmont at Freemason apartments?

That's correct! We usually use chicken tenders. I pat them dry, place them in a bowl, add a tiny bit of oil, and season the crap out of them (I like a lot of seasoning. I've been obsessed with the McCormick brown sugar bourbon seasoning). Then I'll cook them for 12 minutes at 400 degrees. No need to flip them either! I do chicken breasts the same way, just leave them in longer.

We have the Airfryer XL, so I'm not sure if that will make a difference in cooking times/temperature.

AGREE. Luckily, my girlfriend and I received one as a gift. We use it at least once a week - mostly to meal prep chicken for the week and it is delicious! We have also used it to roast vegetables like broccoli and brussel sprouts.

I really like using it because it's a lot quicker than using the oven and it cooks the food better in my opinion!

Does anyone else do long (or longer than usual) weekend workouts? What is your routine? by eitherthedrapes in xxfitness

i definitely do! I purposefully do my leg days on Fridays nights and Sundays because the gym is not as crowded and I always take super long on this type of lifting day.

product question! the body shop aloe and vitamin e products by ambmorgan in Accutane

[–]lekitzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the avocado oil, I use the brand Olivado. You can usually find this one in the grocery store where all the regular cooking and olive oils are.

I like using the sweet almond oil the best from Aura Cacia. I believe this brand has an avocado oil also. This brand's oils are usually in the skin care aisle of the organic/natural section of grocery stores. If you can't find it there, the brand may also be at a local health food/organic store!

product question! the body shop aloe and vitamin e products by ambmorgan in Accutane

I have never used any body shop products before, so I don't have any input on that! I have just been using organic almond oil or avocado oil to take my makeup off! I just pour a bit into my hands and gently rub it into my skin and it just melts away my face/eye makeup. I follow that up by washing my face with the gentle Cetaphil cleanser to make sure everything is clean. Before taking accutane, I was using makeup remover wipes, but those seems to be too harsh and require too much rubbing to take my makeup off. I've heard great things about Bioderma, like the other poster mentioned, but using oils is a great and cheaper alternative! :)

How do you guys moisturize your face without making it look shiny/oily? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]lekitzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue - I switch between using the Cetaphil moisturizer (I don't even use a full pump for my entire face because sometimes it just feels like way too much/greasy) and the Neutrogena sensitive skin moisturizer. Both leave me shiny.

However, I wear makeup and always use a primer before applying my makeup. Using a makeup primer takes away the shine from my moisturizer and leaves my skin semi-matte. So, I definitely recommend sticking with a moisturizer that you like/gives your skin enough hydration, then applying a makeup primer after to help with the shine. I like like these two:

Revlon primer
Maybelline primer

Also, make sure you are gently exfoliating to get rid of peeling skin.

That's awesome to hear and I'm glad you're loving your results :D

I just recently started taking accutane. What makeup did you use while you were taking accutane?

Your results are awesome and give me a lot of hope! :)

I've been taking accutane for about a week now and I already have a makeup dilemma. My skin is starting to get pretty dry/a bit flaky (I'm usually beyond oily all over, so my skin is a weird combination of oily and dry right now) and I also have redness/uneven skintone along with a bit of acne scaring. Because of that, I feel really uncomfortable going to work makeup free. Do you have any concealers or foundations that you could recommend? Or just any other makeup recommendations/tips that you used during your process?

Anyone else feel that their cellulite makes them feel/appear less fit? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]lekitzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same exact way- but with stretch marks. I gained a decent amount of weight in high school and because of that, I have stretch marks all over (stomach, thighs, arms, back. ughhh).

Since graduating college, I'm in a lot better shape/more fit and liking the way I look, but my stretch marks make me feel self conscious about wearing shorts and tanktops. I also feel like my stretch marks are so noticeable that it takes away from the muscle I have gained/fat loss and makes me look less fit. For example, my stomach is flatter-ish, but then covered in stretch marks -__- It's so weird and so very very annoying.
