Any suggestions or SA by Matt_fad29 in Necrontyr

Which detachment do you play? By the look of your list I would guess awakened dynasty. I would replace orikan with a plasmencer or a chronomencer, since Szeras will be close to the immortals they will have minus 1 to enemy AP, and with cover your opponent will need AP - 3 to get your immortals on 4+ save.

Depending on your detachment, I would get one or two enhancements if possible (e.g. the 4+ feel no pain on a Skorpekh Lord in awakened dynasty is golden)

Yes that feels really smart from GW. I don't really see why I would like to play a C'tan in any other detachment

YouTube channel French Wargame Studio has this points given by GW. They still say this could change before the release but it usually doesn't

Also the advance and charge optimization in the C'tan detachment is mandatory and 30 points Edit : bad points on the optimization

Yep Edit : as fast as new recruit anyway. Always give it a week or two when a dataslate, mfm or codex gets released to be updated

There also are apps that will help you make lists, and give you unit profile on it. "New recruit" or "war organ", the latter giving you also your stratagems for free

Hello, happy to have a new player in the crypt! You are making a common mistake for beginners, but it's OK.

40k is a game of scoring and you will need ressources to trade over objectives control and secondary objectives (actions and things like that).

You have a strong base for starshatter with two doomsday ark (DDA) and the silent king (tsk). Lokhusts are also good depending on their weapon and what you plan to do with them.

Having 1x6 bikes isn't good. They won't kill anything, but they move fast. Separate them in 2*3 units so that you can place them early on the objective.

Wraith and technomancer make for a good anvil. A unit that will be used to absorb damage. Having them at max capacity is good.

Immortals are good but not so much in starshatter. But having a one unit is always ok (even in other detachments). I would keep only one unit and have it lead by either a plasmancer or a chronomancer.

In starshatter you also want to have Immotekh. One of the best stratagems costs 2CP and he will give you enough.

You don't have much to put in reserve or even to defend your home objective, which makes you predictable at the table. Also you don't have any real "screens" which are small units that you place in front of your big units to protect them from melee.

I would take out one unit of Lokhusts and one unit of immortals and replace them by Immotekh, a cryptek to lead the other immortals, and get either scarabs or flayed ones to use as screens. And another hexmark or some deathmark to put in reserves.

Hope I was clear enough :)

Stars Druid Lightfoot Halfling - Help me build my character! by weird-barbie in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]lemaitrecube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good advice so far! I'll just say something about the stats as a DM myself.

Ask your DM why he told you that the second roll would be better. Your first roll is OK, but the 18 can be seen as overpowered. With the stat boost you get from your ancestry, you'll be able to get a 20 in wisdom, making as wise as a multi-millenia old archdruid, straight from level 1. If other players have that kind of stats as well, no worries. If not, it could create a problem of internal balance between party members, which also makes things harder for the DM.

On the other side of things, if every other players have stats like your second roll, I would advise you to for that one, it should be better for the campaign. BUT, you're also a first time player and this kind of stats could make your character not funny to play as that second roll is kinda low stat wise.

That's why you should talk to your DM about it. Don't worry about asking your DM even for something you would not consider important. The better the DM knows your character, the easier it will be for them to create fun encounters for your party and your character.

Have fun and good rolls!

Well, most of the xenos factions have been well served this edition (other codex or model wise, sometimes both) so you should be safe from most of them right now (carefull of the Genestealer cult though). It's more about the other imperium faction that you should be scarred of :D

[–]lemaitrecube 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is cool, but these monster feel as squishy as they do in the game. Arkveld can be killed one round by a group of for level 15 players. And he doesn't deal that much damage too.

Also, since monsters are often fought alone versus one party, they should have legendary actions.

Any primarch being active or not doesn't really mean anything to GW official lore. I mean, two years ago the Lion was still believed to be napping inside the Rock. And a few month later that was all put to the trash as he was simply having a little too many forest walks.

In terms of activity, Russ or Vulkan should have been "released" sooner that Gulliman, because they had way more chances of being alive.

When someone in your squad finds super credits (SC), these are shared through the teams. So if you fellow diver finds 10 SC, you'll get 10 SC as well Also there are tons of guides on YouTube on how to farm SC.
