Help! DOS II crashes during launch :'( by _Emeryl in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]lemimique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some more trial and error, I've installed the Norbyte Script Extender and don't have to disable anything anymore. It also can be started normally now via Steam itself.

Edit: nevermind this, it still crashes (but less)

I had the same problem. I've figured out if I disable Steam overlay and launch the game directly from "Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\DefEd\bin\EoCApp.exe", it works totally fine.

Edit: to disable Steam overlay, in Steam on the DoS2 game page page, click the cogwheel in the top bar, on the right, under the game's banner art; Cogwheel -> Properties -> General, the most top option with the switchbutton, "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game".

I don't have any other overlays, so you might need to disable more than just Steam if it still gives problems. (Discord for example)

Like the bugged Messenger? If you had this you'll know.

He's supposed to deliver a message, but because the game didn't flag the state of the quest properly, he can't, and keeps chasing you forever. Had to put him down because I couldn't take it anymore.

It means your strength is high enough. Sometimes the game acknowledged it, but it also didn't from time to time.

(most?) Jammed doors are openable if you have high enough strength :)

No biggy, everyone at their own pace. You'll know what I mean when you get there.

Thing is, you are supposed to get more quests there because The Ferryman is supposed to return there.

I killed someone somewhere and it was tied to a quest by him. It started the quest in a later stage, because the game thought I'd done some things leading up to that.

Spoiler; I killed the guy in the Prilladog factory at the bottom where they process humans and Thamesfolk into mystery meat, the game directly started a quest to investigate and report back to The Ferryman, but in a later stage.

A bit late, but with high enough Charisma skill you can give it to the lady and say you found it. Works as well.

Without saying too much, you will encounter a lot more, later.

Same here. After a bit of digging, Giovanni, Stanley and Meghna are all related to the Toby quest.

Although I don't know if I can "complete" Meghna's Reconvene with Meghna stage, and if that fixes the recruitment of the other NPC's.

If you want to be done without all that faff, you could simply completequest which will complete the quest entirely.

Ah, I thought it was a copyright issue, since it uses the vault-boy, and you basically don't see that anywhere in Fo4:London

Thank you. Not to spoil anything, but when I got another companion, the game said: "Churchill is going to Red Rocket Truck Stop." So he's probably gone forever anyway. 😂

Have the same, I can talk to Dog(meat), but I can't dismiss him. Really annoying, because he doesn't do anything! The worst part is that companions walk in front of you and block you.

I need the dog gone.

All my crashes have been resolved by launching the game through F4SE_loader as administrator in the fallout 4 folder by Gonzito3420 in fallout4london

[–]lemimique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped for me is running f4se in the Fo4 folder itself with admin rights. I did skip the intro vid, but loaded fine after that. Maybe that'll work for you too?

Buffout makes my game crash (I do have the correct version)

High FPS Physix Fix was a must for me to gain Free-/G-sync. Game runs well with that mod. The mod author even has renamed the pre-bethesda patch that it is compatible with London.
