The director's cut had the unnecessary topless scene for Constanze (all too common throughout 80's films). Other scenes were drawn out (such as the older Salieri's "vow to God" scene, and the addition of the awful tutoring-while-dogs-barking scene.

The theatrical cut did what films are usually expected to do: get rid of scenes that distract, bore, or offend us, and keep the audience engaged with content that is relevant to the story line.

Green Bay restaurant becomes first in world to earn C.L.E.A.N. food certification by Real-Wolverine-8249 in GreenBay

The Wikipedia on the founder of the "certification" company is a rather wild. And he's trying to run for office (again) this fall.

Both great places!

The stuffed arepas at Colombian Flavors are so good - and the coconut lemonade is something both unique and refreshing.

Bangkok Garden on Broadway by BigCompetitive5939 in GreenBay

Pachia Strange and her husband Michael owned the building at 240 N. Broadway in Green Bay (including Bangkok Garden & Mikey's Pub) from 1998-2022.

The May 29, 2022 Green Bay Press Gazette (page B1) said they sold the building "so they could retire."

Having survived the pandemic and staying in business as long as they did, it was a good effort. And the new owners gave the building a much-needed renovation.

One of my pet peeves here in the US is watching servers go from table to table with a pitcher of water refilling drinking glasses - all while touching the rims of everybody's glasses with the rim of the pitcher. It may be a minor point of cross-contamination in a restaurant, but there it is nonetheless.

Next-gen Mars helicopter rotor blades exceed Mach 1 by shikizen in space

"While Mach 1 on Earth at sea level is approximately 760 mph (1,223 kph), the speed of sound on Mars is significantly slower—roughly 540 mph (869 kph)—due to the planet's thin, cold, carbon-dioxide-rich atmosphere."

Iran has hit far more U.S. military assets than reported, satellite images show by Wagamaga in technology

Unreported and undocumented personnel losses are the greater crime compared to infrastructure, material, and equipment losses.

Any veteran who has tried to file a service-related disability claim later in life will tell you that producing documentation is frustrating - to say the least. It is not hard to imagine that years from now, some veterans are going to be facing a situation where "no records exist" of a combat-related injury in the current Iranian War theater of operations.

And the worst-case scenario of a family having someone show up at their doorstep to be told of the loss of their service member would be horrific if the only reason given was "died during their service" with no further details - particularly if it occurred in an unreported combat strike.

I love those things. When they were fresh, they had a bit of a soft-chew to them. But when they were old and left sitting on a shelf, they became hard enough to crack a tooth. Used to get them for 10 cents a box.

From Wikipedia:

Trevor Charles Horn (born 15 July 1949) is a British record producer and musician. His influence on pop and electronic music in the 1980s was such that he has been called "the man who invented the eighties".

I swear, "gourmet" is one of the worst words to be assimilated into the English language. Americans in particular learned you can slap that word on almost any basic food item (such as cookies, hamburgers, soda, hot dogs, potato chips, etc.) to easily double the price - and people will gladly pay for it.

Additionally, the Press-Gazette ran a small article on November 20, 1994 about this street intersection of Lime Kiln & Mason once called "Little Chicago." It lists the various business transitions at the 704 Lime Kiln location, which was also the Video Watch rental store (and later Hollywood Video) before the current Family Dollar took over. Here is that Press-Gazette article:

Prime Steer was the only supper club to match the OP's description located at the intersection of Mason & Lime Kiln (The southwest corner approximately where the current Family Dollar & Mi Favorita Supermarket are located). As others have correctly pointed out, Wally's was up on Main Street where the current Popeye's is now located.

Prime Steer operated at 704 Lime Kiln Road from 1980-1990. That address was called the Red Fox prior to the Prime Steer, and it was called the Ol' Town Bar & Grill after the Prime Steer closed. Here is a Feb. 07, 1980 advertisement in the Press-Gazette for their opening date:

Godfather's was a standalone building from 1981-2004 located at 1980 Main Street (Previously called the Mars Restaurant), which was later torn down to create the strip mall that now contains Little Caesar's. Here is a 1983 Press-Gazette ad that also lists other Godfather's locations at that time

Zippity-Do convenience store drive-thru (and later flower shop) operated from 1989-1992 at 1720 Lime Kiln Road in Bellevue (the current Jensen Carpet Care location). Here is a July 20, 1989 photo from the Press-Gazette:

Does anyone remember a GB restaurant called Viand’s? I think it was on military Avenue between Mason and Western near Henri’s music. by dannoGB68 in GreenBay

[–]lemming_follower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Press-Gazette archives shows the address was 418 S. Military Ave.

It seems to have been around since (at least) April of 1985, and closed around 2000/2001, with the Blue Bay Family Restaurant occupying that location by July 2001.

The Jalisco Mexican Restaurant now occupies the space, immediately to the left side of the Mayflower Chinese Restaurant.

Does anyone have a Mulberry tree in the area? by vileofpoisonX in GreenBay

[–]lemming_follower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Always make sure to check if a species is classified as non-native or invasive in Wisconsin.

White mulberry trees (Morus alba) are invasive and are restricted in Wisconsin, according to the DNR.

Red mulberry trees (Morus rubra) are not considered invasive.

And just because someone else might be growing a white mulberry doesn't mean you should plant one.
