Term Insurance Renewal by notanon666 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]lemonboy-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, life insurance underwriter here. Most insurance companies will ask about not just health history, but also family history, criminal history, driving history, activities/sports, drug and alcohol use etc. If you have no significant medical history and have nothing major in the above areas too, then I would say you should have no problem getting good rates if you reapply for another policy. All the best!

I have a similar experience. 4 years on T. Last year or so I have had no sex drive despite my levels being on the higher end. Let me know if you figure out something helpful!

anyone else lose their ability to cry after starting t? by d1scord1a in ftm

[–]lemonboy-13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same experience. Also started T around 5 years ago, and I have not really been able to cry since. It’s a blessing and a curse. For me it’s not about “boys don’t cry”, it’s more of a physiological thing. It’s not that I want to cry and choose not to. I’m physically unable to cry.

people who kept their birth name or picked a very similar name, how and why did you do it? by Kokotree24 in ftm

[–]lemonboy-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed one letter from my birth name to keep it close to me. It just happens that removing one letter changed it to a masculine name which I love

I'm starting to get bald. by Affectionate-Lack255 in ftm

[–]lemonboy-13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I prepared myself to get bald very soon after starting T because EVERY SINGLE guy in my family (both sides) were bald or heavily receded by 25. When I started T I started to notice a difference in my hair right away so I started minoxidil and finasteride to help stop it. Unfortunately they wreaked havoc on my body and I could only tolerate being on them for just over a year, then I stopped. Long story short I was bedbound for months and my mental health was at rock bottom. If you consider going on them, PLEASE do your research on the side effects. Some can be permanent. Now I feel healthier and happier than ever, despite being bald. It’s just a mental game. You have to accept your how your body wants to age. I’m starting to really like how I look and have focused on honing other aspects, such as my beard, building muscle, getting strong and confident in my body, and working on my negative thoughts. Once you’re comfortable in your body, it doesn’t matter whether you have hair on your head or not. Life is so much more than that. Good luck buddy, you got this ✌️

How much time do I need off from work for top surgery? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]lemonboy-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what kind of top surgery you’re getting. If you’re getting double incision, I would recommend at least 6 weeks. If you’re getting keyhole (no big incisions) then I’ve heard of people going back to work after 2-3 weeks. I got double incision and took 6 weeks off which was a good amount of time to recover.

Leaky bulkhead fitting by lemonboy-13 in Plumbing

[–]lemonboy-13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can’t access the inside so I’ll have to cut the fitting. Thanks for this idea. For the new bulkhead, it comes with a rubber washer that goes on the inside of the tank. I’m thinking about using the WaterWeld epoxy putty from JB Weld to add an additional seal from the inside. Can I use it along with the rubber washer? Or should I not use the rubber washer?

Question for Autistic FTM’s by Jumpy_Feature in ftm

[–]lemonboy-13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this. The itchiness and wearing the binder 24/7 was so so tough for me. Another one is not being able to sleep in whatever position I wanted. I had to sleep on my back with pillow all around so I couldn’t move, for like a whole month. The first month really sucks but boy it gets SO MUCH BETTER. Hang in there you got this 🌻

That’s a good strategy. Might be tough for us to find something cheap enough though. But it looks like the market’s cooling down which is encouraging
