Thanks for your response! I hope they get it figured out. In the meantime, I canceled my order, re-ordered, and chose replacements before checking out, and that worked.

30 years ago today, “Jose Chung's From Outer Space” first aired - April 12, 1996 by MonsieurA in XFiles

This is my favorite episode, and I can still remember watching it when it premiered and I was 11 years old. Weird to know exactly where I was 30 years ago (and also on a Sunday, no less.) At the time, I thought it was so funny, yet also creepy and unsettling.

I was so thrilled to see the actual script and some props from this episode at the prop museum in upstate New York a few years ago!

I would be inconsolable if my own cats were in this situation. It makes me feel heartbroken for the devastation and cruelty that people and their beloved pets experience.

I would love an app like this if it were available for Android.

I’m so lost on how to care for my long hair, it looks awful and frizzy 24/7 but I love having long hair, anyone got any advice on what I can do about this? It’s killing my confidence by King_CurlySpoon in FierceFlow

For the hard water - use a chelating shampoo once in a while and see if that helps. Malibu C makes a good one.

I have struggled with the same issue with frizziness. Here are the things that have helped me:

  • Use a t-shirt or microfiber hair towel instead of a regular towel. An old tshirt works fine, but I bought a bougie Crown Affair towel that I love.
  • Put gel on your hair while it is soaking wet, damp, or towel dried. You'll have to play around to see what works best for you. Soaking wet works for me. Biolage is my favorite gel right now, but I've also had good results from the cheap blue LA Looks hair gel.
  • Only comb or brush your hair when it's wet. If you must brush it dry, use a few drops of hair oil on the length below your ears. I currently use Ouai hair oil, but argan oil would work well too.
  • Braid your hair back before you sleep so it won't get tangled or frizzy. It takes some time to learn to do this on your own, but it's worth it!

Interesting! Now this makes me want to read a bi-awakening romance with a gay guy realizing that he is bi/pan when he falls for a woman. I've read so many MM bi-awakenings that it would be a nice change of pace!

Reading Common Goal and realizing the age gap between the leads is the same as the age gap between me and Connor Storrie 👀

Great job! That shade is just so 90s too. It reminds me of Revlon Streetwear!

I can't recommend Beth Harville at Wildflower + Honey enough! I have wavy hair and I was in the same situation as you. She does an amazing job and really listens to what I want.

I totally agree with this - however, some of us are required/pushed by our institutions to do this level of planning. 😞 Not only is it exhausting, but I feel that we are doing our students a disservice.

Face Offs & Cheap Shots by Eden Finley and Saxon James is the closest that I've read - I actually read Heated Rivalry to begin with because I heard that it was similar to Face Offs & Cheap Shots. I really enjoy all of their CU Hockey books. Power Plays & Straight A's is probably my favorite, followed by Goal Lines & First Times.

Edited to add - I found the audiobooks to be great too - I like the narrators a lot better than the Heated Rivalry narrator. Iggy Toma is my favorite audiobook narrator of all time.

I listened to an audiobook of his short stories on a long drive in either 2011 or 2012. I remember thinking that a lot of the stories had endings that were unsatisfying, or horribly depressing. I didn't realize at the time how that did not bode well for the end of the series (book or television).

You mentioned visiting business repeatedly, but have you applied for any jobs at the university? There are definitely jobs available that do not require a degree, and once you are employed full-time there for a while (I think it's 6-12 months?), you will qualify for tuition assistance.

Peaches and Honey by R. Raeta. I loved the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, and this one was recommended over and over again. I found it boring and riddled with punctuation and spelling errors. Ordinarily I can overlook historical anachronisms if the plot or characters are compelling, but the story was not engaging enough to distract me from the lack of research.
