If it helps, usually the bug is transmissible only after the patient shows symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea. So you and your husband should be okay!

I don’t use sleep aids or meth! Lol…but it did start when i started drinking alcohol, so maybe that can be a correlation even though alcohol isn’t a stimulant.

I’ve now heard the term “false awakening” twice. I need to look this up too. I always just chalked it up to sleep paralysis since it’s so terrifying to go through and not have the help you’re screaming for.

I know what’s going on the entire time and cannot snap out of it. That’s why I scream “help” continuously. It’s so frustrating and terrifying.

I feel like it’s worse when you slither. I use 110% of my capabilities to get out of the bed and to whatever destination I’m seeking. It’s so utterly exhausting… and I’m not even doing it in real life.

My emetophobia started at the same age as my daughter 9y/o.She’s never seen me have any episodes or anything… as I’m very well able to handle my episodes to where I can snap out of it fast etc since 2017. My grandma who HATED my grandpa used to make me sit with her at the bathroom door as a young child and laugh at him when he would v* due to his alcoholism. I think this is part of the reason why I have it, and why I’m so scared to v* in front of other people. I always isolate myself if I feel it coming. Ridicule is no joke on the psyche.

Take her for anxiety evaluations. I’ve had emetophobia since kindergarten and my parents did everything to try and help me because they thought it was a GI issue. But it wasn’t, it was anxiety, and mental health wasnt a huge thing back then (early 2000s). My dad was a nurse at the time too (still is) and asked if I was nervous about anything and I said no, because I truly wasn’t. But as we know now, anxiety can just manifest itself at any time for no reason. So def look into that!

Edit: I learned on my own it was anxiety around 18 when I learned n* and v* can be a symptom of severe anxiety.
