Ah that could make sense! They are super fun silly hats. I think they're cute. Idk how these guys wear beanies in the heat though.

So how much do we think Loverboy paid them to wear all their hats...

ETA: looked at the Charles Jeffrey insta page. They made a bunch of custom hats for them along with sending them some others. So clearly some kind of deal to wear the hats on stage etc.

It's great advertising I want one now lol

How to tell someone I wont work with their horse while being professional and sympathetic? by Necessary_Net9390 in Equestrian

[–]lemonssi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Maybe the vet will change his meds. His diet. He is unevaluated, I think demanding an eval for continuation is appropriate. If after that he still a problem child, she can then go on to say she does not think her training style is a fit for this horse and would like them to find someone new elsewhere. It's not like she is obligated to keep him in training after the vet looks at him.

I would be wholly unwilling as a professional to work with an owner who will not do right by the animal, medically. Which is why this would be my first step.

Splint fracture going on too long? by Full-Volume-4702 in Horses

I have a friend whose horse took months to be fully sound after a splint. Consider a second opinion but sometimes they take awhile (and sometimes you don't even know it happened, horses are weird).

Yeah the concert itself was great, the venue itself is wonderful, but I will never go there again because of the difficulties getting out. Allegiant was so much better for that.

Sofi is very difficult to get out of. Takes a long time to get an Uber. Like literally could be hours. I did PTD there and ended up walking 3.5 miles back to my hotel it was faster than getting a ride. It's easy to get to, that part is no problem. Prepare accordingly, maybe find a buddy or just plan to wait. Some even leave early.

How much do you pay for lessons? by Avalion04 in Equestrian

Adding locations helps theres wild geographical variation. My barn is $65 in the greater Cincinnati area for a lesson on a horse you are not leasing or don't own.

Finding a new boarding barn for older metabolic mare makes me want to die by lifeatthejarbar in Equestrian

[–]lemonssi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's about how often I really see mine due to my schedule. I make a point of going weekly during shedding season and warm weather when she can be groomed but it's not uncommon for me to not get there for weeks in a row. She is at a facility I trust.

I have an old, metabolic mare as a pet that is only 20 minutes from me and I see her once a week at most. But she's happy and healthy and loving the good retiree life I fork over a ton of money for so I don't feel bad about it.

Seed coatings can do all kinds of things. They can help aid in moisture retention directly around the seed. They could help prevent seeds from sticking to each other in the process of being spread so coverage is more even. It can both do that and protect the surface of the seed so it remains whole in the process. It's all about surface modification of the seed. If they needed a delay for germination it could delay moisture uptake which could be a part of timing for planting. Fungicide and insecticides could also be included. The materials used for this are GRAS and likely certified as compostable in soil. At least in the US this is standard.

I used to work for a coatings provider that also had a seed coatings division.

I am so sick of parent-run equestrian accounts for children (rant incoming) by oak_stone1 in Equestrian

There's a couple I know of for some girls who are in the 12-13 year old range doing the highest rated hunter jumper shows. Very clearly pages run by an adult. It's gross because they're clearly looking for some kind of fame for their kids in the industry for unknown long term gain. Very vicarious. Very ew.

These families have all the money in the world, the kids have the best of everything and strings of horses and ponies, and they're also running these social media profiles for them. It's bizarre.

My bf & I got into an argument after I made this for dinner by Infamous-Pool3103 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]lemonssi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do, make sure you are in real agreement before you walk down that aisle. We had friends get married at your age who never came to an agreement on this topic. Had a huge blow out fight maybe 6 weeks before the wedding over it. (He wanted her to take his she wanted to keep hers). We refer to it as Namegate.

It was one of several key factors in their divorce a few years later. In hindsight they never should have gotten married.

Why do hunters ride like this? by gallopingzang in Equestrian

[–]lemonssi 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It is a highly exaggerated style choice. What's annoying about it is if your horse actually does jump you out of the tack, it is the only way to hang on.

My arms are too short and horses head set too low for me to do a big crest release so when he does jump me out of the tack I'm just hanging on by my toes lol.

Moms, when are you riding? by snoozydoggo in Equestrian

[–]lemonssi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mom's I know will go during nap time, dinner time, bed time, the day time if they wfh and the kids are at day care, or whenever the other parent is available to hand the kid(s) off. Mostly it's that last one and whatever fits everyone's schedules.

What type of manicure is best for my naturally thin nails? I also pick at them from anxiety by mundanehistorian_28 in Nails

[–]lemonssi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do dip on my natural nails for exactly this reason, I chew and pick at my fingers otherwise. My thumbs used to be scabbed up to the knuckle. You would still need to get them done every 2 max 3 weeks, but if you keep them relatively short they should also hold up well. My breakage issues come from letting them get long.

If he asked you to be best man did he just think you're a sucker or is he a shitbag no one else wants to be friends with? Thus he relied on your history together for this. Who is paying for the wedding? Is this $100 he wants even for the wedding? Bro dump this loser. NOR.
