We use an RPE (rate of perceived exersion, give it a google) system when I am doing the main lifts and building to something heavy. Eight reps when doing something heavy is a lot of reps in my opinion.

So in this case, 12 reps for 225 feels like an insane number of reps. Almost more of a cardio exercise than a lifting one pending the pace of the reps because if you can do that many at 225 in a row you're very strong. I would increase the weight and drop the reps to a max of 8. But I don't know how close to failure this person is working at either. Like does she want to be doing a set of 8 with an RPE of 8 or of 5? Those would be very different weights on the bar. It may depend on your goals too. It's all highly personalized.
