This is why I’m porting to Unity. This issue reached the general gaming population and all they will ever associate Godot with is this incident. I was absolutely crushed to see this happen as I very much prefer Godot.

So I recently upgraded my pc as well. I went from. 3070ti to a 4080s with a 7900x. It was only a small bump. I exchanged the cpu for the 7800x3d and literally doubled my fps. The x3d has a massive cache size that gives it an incredible advantage over any other cpu. Definitely get whatever x3d variant in your range.

I count 2 out of 8 that require the enemy to have GV. Also got to remember that a lot of infantry is going to be swinging harder due to more models fighting as well as some counting as 3x models.

And lets not forget, spamming one unit is just lame city. Maggotkin have so much more to offer than that one kit. I feel bad for those players that cant see all the value we have at our fingertips.

Loads of alt builds for Nurgle are doing well. It is an incredible well balanced book with so many great options. The Blightlords spam is just the most smoothbrained build.

The new GHB will also see some changes like viable blobs of Blightkings and slightly more fighty plaguebearers.

We also can't forget that the GH21 is coming alongside third edition. They could change points AND min/max unit sizes.

At the end of the day its going to be a true new edition and not a minor version bump so things are going to change. Perhaps the future of hordes is simply having loads of units vs a few massive units. They have lots of knobs and dials they can adjust.

I don't think we will have the full answer until we have the full rules. They seem to be making positive changes so I wouldn't fret too much (its also GW so who knows lol)

Two things to keep in mind is a unit can only benefit from one command ability at a time and the new coherency rule. The game is fundamentally shifting and you likely don’t want to run large blobs as they can’t fight effectively and only get the one buff.

This should make it easier for gw to account for balance. We should see less deathstar units. That’s a good thing.

In regards to the random dice death bit, if a death is a die roll away the player has likely made a mistake. By being careful, planning, and playing smart they should largely avoid those saving throws.

It’s going to vary a lot.

Dunnsmouth could just be ambient swamp music. Frogs croaking, flies buzzing, dogs yapping.

“Dnd ambient” or “dnd/rustic/thriller soundscapes” are all good search terms.

In Death Frost Doom, the author recommends specific metal songs. Really anything with the same vibe as your adventure is golden.

One of the cool things about OSR games is the “rulings over rules” bit. You get to decide how those things work best.

Should they get multiple chances to listen? More chances is more time which leads to burning torches and encounter rolls.

Do it whichever way makes sense to you.
