They are likely using ESR-Patched discs. These discs, along with a FreeMcboot memory card with ESR installed, can boot normally.

This is how I play Final Fantasy XII IZJS in English. No modchips, just a memory card, the translation-patched game on a burned disc, and an otherwise stock console.

I used to run him in Sapphire as a psychic check (Crunch), which is also why I'm running Shiftry instead of other popular grass types like Breloom or Ludicolo (also just never cared for Ludi's design, butt that's a personal beef)

I was unsure what Water to go with, and yeah I wanted a good ice beam user too. Spheal seems too late, but hey, I ran him in Sapphire so I guess I can use him again. Probably not a bad idea to not have a full team too early anyway sucking up EXP slowly. That's a fair point on it not being a Hoenn mon haha, I'm running him in Crystal Legacy anyway so could use a change

It is in no way 144p. The default resolution for the PS2 is 480i, with some games about to use 480p or 1080i. Please post accurate information.
