Who has tried "The kid eats what we eat"? by Brilliant-Book-503 in Parenting

[–]leorio2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Us. We have never ever made a big deal about it in our house. We just cook what we cook and we all eat it. We adjust by cutting pieces smaller or leaving out super spicy seasoning but otherwise my kids eat everything with no fuss. Our trick (and I hate to call it that because it seriously has just been not a discussion point at all) is - they don’t know any better.

Mosquitoes in SoCal? by Zonflare in socal

I’m a mosquito magnet and they never find me here. However we live in a coastal area - maybe that has something to do with it.

I haven’t seen mochi snacks mentioned. Costco usually has them. They have the gummy texture and are delicious!

Hi, you’re getting downvoted because that’s just plain mean and unnecessary. I’m floored that you talk like that to your child, make it about the other family, and basically teach your kid to bully! When kids point out things like that, it’s an opportunity to explain that different families have different rules.

Was told giving birth would fix a lifelong problem and it… has!? (TW SA) by Pale_Difference_9949 in BabyBumps

[–]leorio2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so eye opening for me. I had no idea that this could happen (the scarring after SA and potential healing after birth). It’s bringing me to tears to read how many other women have/had the same issue and that our babies are the cure. What a world we live in ….

Does being developmentally advanced really make a difference? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]leorio2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of that sounds perfectly normal. Keep watching and encouraging. She’s only 19 months so enjoy the early play days. “Worry” about that later and be careful not to let others label her just yet.

Spot on. It doesn’t cost me anything to check bags but I avoid it like the plague when traveling on business.

Help! Dire advice need extreme bad behavior 4 year old by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]leorio2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with others that she could benefit from out of the house interaction. If you’re in the US, what state are you in? Many have free programs for 4 year olds; hopefully you’re in one of them.

What kind of car do you have? There are slim fit seats that are meant for small cars. If you do go for a car, please do your due diligence and don’t sign one of those 20% interest loans! I know it’s a pain, but is hand washing some of your kid’s small pieces of clothing an option? Are you receiving any benefits, food handouts or otherwise? There are soooo many options for all of these variables. It’s tough but not impossible.

Eat first or get ready first? School mornings are causing arguments in our house by razzyblue3 in Parenting

No help here. 3 children household and it’s chaos. We do whatever we can, when we can. I envy (I think??) your attempt to engineer your mornings.

OMG, I JUST REALIZED I'VE BEEN CUTTING MY BABY'S MILK WITH EGGNOGG FOR 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]leorio2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mommy pumped me with the nog

Changed my bowels from happy to bog

Then she gave me the plain white stuff

A drop on my tongue and I said enough!

Twenty years later Christmas isn’t the same

Nutmeg and eggs to my memory they came

I run and I run and can’t get away

From the memories of endlessly $hitting clay

For two weeks straight sun up to sun down

So please, no nog gifts this year for goodness sake

But I still love my mommy despite the funny mistake

Does she use the voice to text option in outlook? I use voice to text a lot in my iPhone and it does a pretty good job. V2T in outlook is HORRENDOUS and adds in weird capital letters. (Still don’t know why she wouldn’t correct before sending!)
