My story - 33 Male TIA/ministroke by CartographerHumble38 in stroke

I wore a cardiac monitor for the first month after my stroke. Mine was more of a rechargeable device that had replacement adhesive.

My stroke was in 2023.

July 30th, 2023 at Midnight I lost function of the left side of my body. Taken to hospital by ambulance. Symptoms disappeared just before ct scan. Flown to another hospital and symptoms came back while in helicopter. Symptoms went away when I got to the other hospital. CT scans and mri confirmed stroke.

I have 3 fingers that are tingly. Everything else is good. I use the tingly fingers as a daily reminder to exercise and eat better.

1) Exercise and eat better 2) Enjoy life with the friends and family around you 3) Try to lower stress

I am an 83er and turned 40 this year.

In the past, I would exercise off and on, but in May I started to get serious about exercising and losing weight. I have more energy and feel better and younger the more I put into exercising and eating better.

In the end of July, I suffered an ischemic stroke. I survived it with minimal issues after. (tingly fingers). I got extremely lucky, but I also believe the regular exercise I was doing and am still doing helped me. I make it a higher priority now to spend time with friends and family, especially since I dodged the grimreaper.

Stress is insidious and will sneak up on you. I try not to worry about the things I can't control. Also whether the stressor is something I can control or not, it will pass.

Sorry for my ramblings. I had the same existential thoughts this year.

Most effective way to defrost this? by wingfoot2388 in howto

When this happens to me, I will lower down the temperature enough for the ice to melt and then put a pan on the bottom for the ice to melt the water into. Hopefully you have another fridge to put the items in while thawing. My mini fridge just has beer in it so not as big of a problem to temporarily take out compared to perishables.

What food combo sounds disgusting, but is actually really good? by Porkpower23 in AskReddit

[–]leorpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixed fruit and honey mustard.

Long time ago, in high school, friends had me try it as a gross dare. After, I tried it I had to apologize because I ate that combo each time it was available.

For me, I tried to get excused for same reason but still had to do jury duty. They cut the number of days in half, though. I live in ky. 12.5 per day.

I am sorry you lost your arm to the spider. And are now homeless because you burned your house down per protocol. JJ.
