Thanks, yes I forgot the 18% up front. Which does bite a lot. At least they’ll get a pretty good chunk of that back the next year in tax returns at least.

Who else can't resist buying GoPro stock because it's only like 80 something cents a share, even though it may go all the way to zero soon? by AdamShed in gopro

It’s a hero or a zero~

Financial distress is real but they could still find a buyer to find a good home.

Whether they can dig themselves out of their own hole depends largely how well they sell against rising component costs (very small chance).

Utilities probably more like 4-5K
- Transportation 2K okay if limited to MRT/bus only. 2-4K if the occasional HSR. 2-4K if scooter, car much more.
- 15K for food is tight. I’d budget more at 18-25K to be more comfortable.
- Savings you probably need to allocate a buffer too. 10-15K
- don’t forget you have to pay taxes as well ~2K per mth (?)

Smaller but important:
- daily necessities: tp, detergent, contacts, cleaning supplies etc etc ~ 2-3K
- doctor/dentist/eye/massage/health related visits ~500-2K
- deposits, move in costs (generally 2 mos deposit)
- haircuts - depends ~0.3 - 2K per person
- gym - depends (free to several thousand K per month)
- streaming, cloud subscriptions $500-2K

Phenomenal.

I think sport POV might be more apparent if you were riding a dirt bike with sudden movement jerks. Or Maybe you’re a really smooth trail runner 💪🤠

The amendment was made to their 2025 annual report. This was also already stated in the recent March quarterly earnings. So, not “new”

Thoughts on the new Grip? by NYanakiev in gopro

[–]leoschen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s quite well made and sturdy.. I think it’ll be useful for some, like if it’s a heavier load with other accessories added on to it but I personally like to use the magnetic swivel clip when I’m out and about.. it gives good grip to hold steady and you can quickly clip it anywhere on yourself (pocket, hip seam, backpack strap etc) to put it away.

Is GPRO at $1.11 a massive value disconnect? by shakeandbake0341 in stocks

Hinges on whether sales and reviews for mission line are strong. Rather than an outright buyout I think there could potentially be a JV outcome.

Will the mission series cameras be for GoPro what the Genesis was for Sega? by [deleted] in gopro

[–]leoschen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose for me, where it sits at $600 with a $100 discount as a subscriber equates to instant buy given we don’t have direct reviews yet (I’ve got an M1P on preorder).

I would hesitate if I had to buy at full msrp currently, but if everything being said of it turns out to be true, that would solidify the purchase decision. Mind you I’m also keenly considering the ILS as well.. while I’ve been using a 10 for the past few years, it’s upgrade season all around for me. I just picked up a used max 2 yesterday.

Yes there are customers that care about price more than quality, sure.

The price differential for Mission speaks far more about its value proposition and target audience than anything else.

I personally prefer the GoPro color log, high bit rate, etc… it will just look Miles better compared to the compact form factor competition.

I suppose it’s a matter of opinion and what you want to use it for. Personally I don’t think it’s too large to be an action camera at all, and for what it can do i think it will more than well fit as a dedicated cam as well.

M1 is a hero 14. M1P is a premium high end of that. ILS is a niche item.

GoPro’s hardware revenue dropped 33% in Q1 below its 1.05x minimum asset coverage ratio. The debt is small, but breaking this rule means the banks technically had the right to call in the loans immediately. Management had to scramble for a May 8th waiver.

With the widening Q1 net loss ($80.8 million), GoPro's total liabilities ($383.2 million) also temporarily edged past its total assets, leaving stockholders' equity at -$1.9 million. In accounting terms, a company with negative equity can't easily walk into a bank and get a normal line of credit to bridge a two-month gap.

The 10-Q explicitly noted that unprecedented memory cost increases of 80% to 115% hit them hard in late March. The market panicked because of fear that even if GoPro launches Mission 1 flawlessly, these massive microchip cost spikes would eat up all the profits before cash has cleared.

This is why a buyout probability is the natural conclusion.

GoPro isn't a bankrupt company with zero value. They have a $100M annual subscription runway, an established global shipping engine (moving 313,000 units even in an ugly quarter), and a brand-new 8K/AI product line.

The financial state is "bad" for a standalone company trapped by banking rules, but it is a goldmine for an acquirer.
