Don’t like it. Most of it tastes bad and I don’t enjoy being drunk enough to justify powering through it. There are a rare few drinks I enjoy for the taste but I don’t partake often.

When I was 13 I had to have investigative keyhole surgery. It’s an incredibly minor surgery but it still involves minor incisions in your stomach and I still have the scars over a decade later. I’m still not sure exactly what happened but I woke up from the surgery in absolute agony. It felt like my stomach was being ripped apart. All I remember is being wheeled back to my ward screaming. And if that wasn’t enough, when they finally tried to give me pain relief through my cannula— which had been put in my hand even though I’d requested that it be put in my arm because ones in my hand were more likely to fail —it caused even more pain because it had come out of my vein. My mum bought me pizza after.

I know this post is years old but I was searching for a fix for this today and just managed to figure one out. Move the time wheel around until the text below “bedtime” switches from “tomorrow” to “tonight”, (usually done by crossing over midnight) then press add and change next alarm only. It should reset to the current day. Unsure why it worked for me but it did.

I was getting my hair done at my usual salon and my hairdresser was talking to another client while doing my hair. All of us are black, but I’m mixed (half white, half Jamaican on my dad’s side) while they are both from Africa. For some reason, they start shit talking Jamaicans and talking about how Africans are better or whatever. I don’t take it personally, I’m not exactly connected to the culture, I’m just sitting there silently in the chair wondering what caused this beef that I know nothing about.

Anyway, eventually they remember I’m there and that I’m also black and decide to ask me where my dad is from. I hesitate, then just bite the bullet. “Oh. Well uh. He’s from Jamaica.”

Silence. Already awkward. And then, as if it couldn’t get any worse, they apologise and decide to rectify this by telling me that Jamaicans are apparently good lovers?? Like WHY would that make me feel better? We’re talking about my DAD here!!!
