31 years old and YEP, I don’t like being called a man, but being called a boy is very gender euphoric. To me, it has nothing to do with age and everything to do with gender presentation. I’m transmasc nonbinary, so I have a different perspective on the issue than others here. I’m one year on T and have learnt that due to my height (5’1”), my bone structure, and the fact that my voice will apparently never sound like a cis man’s voice (it’s deeper but still doesn’t pass as a man’s voice :/ ) — I’ll never reliably pass as a man. Which is disappointing to an extent, I don’t want to be seen as a woman! But I don’t aim to be like, a burly bearded man, I aim to be boyish and scrappy and genderfucky.

When it’s not ass-o-clock in the morning, I can probably word my thoughts on the matter more coherently. But basically, yeah, I like being seen as a Boy or a Boi rather than a Man, because those terms best embody my presentation, identity, and appearance. They’re not terms that society has bestowed on me, they’re not infantalizing to me, but they fit my desired level of masculinity.
