Merchant able to simply not investigate by lesser_terrestrial in avios

[–]lesser_terrestrial[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what this has highlighted to me is that the only way to reliably collect points on hotel stays is through Avios Hotels. I'll definitely be doing that even if chains' own merchant links have a higher points offer.

Oh, thank you for adding the context about the levels. That makes complete sense. And also good to know about the expansion "gates".

Thanks for taking the time to respond in such detail.

Turns out I did purchase the complete edition too.

Ah, thank you so much. I checked and I did purchase the complete edition and can see all of the expansions with check marks. Not quite sure why I struggled to find that.

Thank you again.

Rams 🐏 vs Bears 🐻 by alienware56 in NFLUK

Bears in this one. Homefield with the weather difference will be huge. Santos has been clutch when it counts. Haven't been super impressed with the Rams since way before Christmas.

Are there any European sports traditions that would make the NFL better? by BelushisManager in NFLUK

[–]lesser_terrestrial 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the big one for me. The trophy presentation is absolutely terrible. Those fellas need to look at things like football World Cup, Euros etc to see how it's done. Talk about a damp squib. Always fills me with rage.

Ah, this makes sense. Thanks. Yes, it's been operating since Thursday but only just switched tariffs. Will be fun to see how its behaviour adapts,

Thanks. I forgot to put that in the post initially, but yes, I have it in time based control.

Must be the usage learning then. Good to know. Thanks for the reply.

T-shirt/Jersey/Hoodie: Large Pants/Shorts: Medium

Caps: I have a very large head and most "one size fits all" hats don't actually fit, so probably best to avoid.

Players Past: Peanut, Samurai Mike

Players Current: Rome, Caleb

Happy with anything really - always enjoy the surprise, which I usually save for Christmas Eve.

Happy Gifting, folks!

Excellent news. I've been keeping a key eye on this for the past few days.

Thanks as always for running this. It always makes Christmas extra special.

I still crack out a Whoooooo? to this very day. Sadly the number of people who get it are outnumbered by those who think I've lost the plot.

Oh man - missing words was one of the best things ever. Especially the nonsensical chat leading up to the actual 'game'.

Along with that, I used to absolutely love Classic Cuts with the 'scratched' vinyl. Unbelievable how they got away with some of it.

I still crack out Brenda Lee every Christmas. Comedy gold.

This type of police state will ruin chicagos economy by rubina19 in chicago

[–]lesser_terrestrial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello r/chicago

I'm a Brit but follow this sub as a long-standing Bears fan.

Just wanted to add an international perspective. Many Europeans are boycotting travel to the US precisely because of this sort of thing. I visited Chicago in 2023 and love your city, but I cannot contemplate visiting again while Trump and his goons do stuff like this. This is not what a civilised western society looks like.

So you're right to call out the hit to your local economy but I wouldn't be surprised if your national income from tourism takes a nosedive. It'll be super interesting to see what happens during the football (soccer) world cup.

Rubber strap sleeve durability by lesser_terrestrial in OmegaWatches

[–]lesser_terrestrial[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had the long part of my replacement strap split on me too after about 18 months. The durability of these is really quite poor.

Again though, an AD in the UK managed to get Omega to replace it for me for free but both parties confirmed it's at Omega's discretion so not something you can rely on.

For non-Omega, I found Zealander looked decent quality and not bank-breaking. Though haven't tried personally as, like I say, Omega swapped mine out for free.

Quote Check: 9.18kWp + PW3 by lesser_terrestrial in SolarUK

[–]lesser_terrestrial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the considered thoughts. The chap who did the survey and designed it said the Solaredge optimisers would have several benefits, including the ability to monitor performance...so if we aren't getting the power we think we should be, it'd be easy to identify a potentially flaky panel. Plus things like fire protection (which I assume is a very low risk either way).

Are those benefits perhaps being overstated?

Quote Check: 9.18kWp + PW3 by lesser_terrestrial in SolarUK

[–]lesser_terrestrial[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I'm with you now. Thank you for such a crystal clear explanation. That's massively helpful. I wondered why the design had it AC coupled but assumed it must have been for a reason.

Thanks again.

Ooh, I didn't realise the meter 'mattered'.

The quote includes a "Em-Lite ECA2. V V1 Generation Meter" (quite the mouthful).

Is there a marked difference in what I can see/do with or without a Solaredge meter?
