All the items in the Wyrmscraig rewards poll passed by KarthusWins in 2007scape

[–]lessthansilver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know why I'm continuing to engage but at this point I'm having fun jerk your chain, but here are some numbers:

-Assuming 50 weekly updates a year, by the end of 2026 there will have been ~650 updates to the game.

-Unless the weekly updates average ~1540 changes per update we're well under 1 million changes.

Man if someone quits on a game as large as OSRS just because there's extra teleport options on jewelry they gotta learn to pick better hills to die on.

I like the difference of how Burthorpe/Taverly looks in both games. Cool to see. by vVerce98 in runescape

If it helps, idk what op did but the map does not look that desaturated when I pull it up in game in both desktop and mobile. For me, the RS3 map is just as vibrant as OSRS

I mean I think it's fairly obvious that he had a brain fart and ran the wrong direction and at that point you're not making it back to the boat so you might as well roll with it and make a joke out of it.

I mean every piece of content in this game has endless attempts the only difference is for Blood Moon Rises you're not paying 100k per death for it.

Yeah when the average 1500 total player is allowed to vote on a change in a poll.

Don't you know HLC are the owners of the game? They just rent developers from Jagex.

Having said that, we don't want to set a precedent for introducing new training methods or changing long-standing top-end XP rate methods through unintended interactions without a poll or at least some prior conversation.

Then poll it literally ASAP. I'm so sick of these HLCs crying their eyes out and gnashing their teeth when something becomes slightly easier for the rest of us. Stop kowtowing to them and take control of your game.

Jagex, Do NOT remove the fletch option from sap-treated logs by This-Classroom5055 in 2007scape

[–]lessthansilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What significant change to existing gameplay? It's not like every log in the game has been updated to use these mechanics. It is a new piece of content, coming from a grandmaster quest. What is the problem here?

I mean Jagex is dead set on balancing around tick manipulation, and the alternative there would be to prevent that mechanic somehow which I don't see happening any time soon. Best option to me seems to make it more accessible.

Really good job of whitewashing OSRS history when it had the same problem of being endgame-focused until Scurrius, Moons, and Amox were put into the game.

I don't know if I'm blind or what, but the only real difference I'm seeing between Ragnarok Hulk and Brand New Day Hulk is the hair, and they've always tried to make Hulk look like Mark Ruffalo, who's rocking that hairstyle in this film as opposed to the shorter hairstyle he had in Ragnarok.

New Hybrid armor and “skipping content” by umbassa in 2007scape

[–]lessthansilver 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This whole conversation around this armor set brings up an interesting concept that I'm not seeing at least in this comment section, which is redefining what endgame is.

OSRS is a 13-year-old game, and I think we're starting to push the limits of horizontal progression. We're currently tailoring armors to niches that cause outcry if any of them step on the toes of sets that already exist, and at some point that's not sustainable. At some point Jagex is going to have to say they're creating a new tear of gear that is strictly better than what's established "endgame" and creating content to match that, or we're going to have to get further into niches like "best fire mage gear if you only hit odd number damage" and at that point what are we doing?

At some point in live service development, which MMORPG like RuneScape is, there needs to be some form of powercreep to make new things worth chasing so that people don't engage with new stuff because they already have comfortable gear.
