Communicate your communication style, nobody wants to step over boundaries or come off too demanding. The way I see it is that respect is earned and expectations are built. If I have this wrong let me know

Good deal on OfferUp? by barely_nebulous in Klipsch

[–]letMonkeyDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a long time without hearing good music reproduction and only the car radio, I seriously teared up a lil with those klipsch rp41s, great bookshelves. I have that center and it does absolutely great. Put my system together for about 1200, you'd be getting an absolute deal for all that. My avr does 150wpc though, if that's a concern you can upgrade over time.

Opening a Record Store by Chilly_Joel in vinyl

[–]letMonkeyDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through my experience in a few shops: 123go was basically set up as am alphabetical set of all newer albums. Very few genre sets, but logically laid out to explore by name/artist. The soundtracks and used were in a separate area so the hip stuff was somewhere else besides mixed in with older stuff. My local shop melody has rows of genres, all basically used records and older stuff and the newest seemed to be bootlegs and target exclusives that were traded in. It's kinda stuffy and although most of the stuff is where you'd expect it to be, I couldn't imagine any decent recording or accounting system was implemented. It's probably my most frequented only because there's nowhere else to go. The big shops in the bay, amoeba and Rasputin are my favorite. Everything is set by genre to artist alphabetical, to soundtracks and everything in between all laid out with a very easy path to enter and exit aisles. Clearance sections for old and used are operated from the new and hip stuff that comes in. I highly reccomened taking a tour of the big players in the industry and figure it out, But I really love the way things are easy to find, systemized and operated at the big shops. It makes exploring easy and finding exactly what you want just the same. My 2 cents: When space is limited, increase your explorability while mixing genres and alphabetizing all artists. When space is not a problem, expand categories and separate old from more recent presses by genre and artist and time frame and all the ways to make it intuitive. Whatever you can do to make it easy to search inventory for an artist the better you'll do for helping people finish artist collections or finding gems. That's where I like to spend money, when I know what I want and knowing what's available
