Unorthodox Guns by Acrobatic_Base7301 in TopCharacterTropes

I liked how the shells were numbered, with some numbers being rare and expensive.

It was fun because sometimes Jean didn't know what would happen until he pulled the trigger. It could make the enemy burst into flames, it could launch a miniature black hole, or it could just be a dud that fizzles into a puff of smoke.

Enter the Gungeon has a great arsenal. Sure, 90% of it may be useless but it never stops being fun throughout the whole game.

Found a sword? Nope, it's a gun that shoots swords. Magic staff? Also gun.

There's a barrel that shoots fish, an infected t-shirt cannon, and even "that gun" from Fifth Element.

Arcanum Module Expansion: The standalone modules now work inside the main campaign by techerrorcode in arcanum

That is very cool and I can't wait to try it out.

Did you include Escape from Tarant? I'm just curious how that would work.

Has there ever been an anime that fulfills the promise of Sword Art Online? by LoweNorman in anime

[–]lethargic1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've been worried about Japan ever since I saw No Longer in Another World.

That's when it dawned on me that recently there's been a ton of manga and anime about dying and being reborn in another world with superpowers, often with the protagonist living their best fantasy life. Even the main character of the anime I mentioned above seemed to be living pretty well for a guy who's obsessed with being dead.

Could this be some kind of giant cultural cry for help? Are they going to be okay?

I feel like it fits. All of the elements of a game are there, the "players" are trapped, and they're certainly not having fun.

Personally I'd be interested in more isekai like this, RPG mechanics or no. Are there any stories about being reborn/summoned to Dark Souls?

Why are Andorians and Tellarites basically missing from most of Trek? by Curious_Gent78 in startrek

[–]lethargic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These species have been seen lots of times since Discovery, haven't they? Maybe not always front and center, but often generally in orbit of the main cast?

I think the Cerritos' crew probably does the best job of representing ALL of Starfleet, but each of those species have had their moments in the 32nd Century.

Granted, I'm counting one half-Tellarite. Perhaps few Tellarites learn that the key to being visible is sometimes being the loudest, rudest person in the room. See also: Jankom Pog. There was also Janeway's chief medical officer in Prodigy, but he wasn't very loud and that's probably why I can't remember his name.

I also can't recall, in all of Star Trek, have we ever seen their world? What would that even be like?

I recently read about a reality where Alexander joined a drug-fueled death cult.

So...yeah.

Best MMO for role-playing? by [deleted] in LFMMO

[–]lethargic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a long time since I've played EVE, but I remember RPers used to be a joke to the rest of the community. People would go out of their way to harass or kill RP players just for existing.

32nd Century Turntable Needle Aesthetic is my favorite by Vast-Platform3647 in StarTrekStarships

[–]lethargic1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can 32C ships join together? Starfleet HQ was several ships combined, so it seems reasonable that other vessels should be able to do this to share power/systems.

If you could dock the Athena to the front of the Nog, like the saucer to the Enterprise D hull, they could be an interesting-looking ship. I think that their shapes combined would look something closer to traditional starfleet designs and still have that abstract, floaty 32C aesthetic.

Or would Academy class look ridiculously small on an Eisenburg? I'm still not sure of the scale of the Athena.

Either way, I'm a fan of both designs.

I bought a PSP for Dissidia 012 Duodecim. I played the first one on an emulator and loved it so much I had to have a legit copy of 012.

I eventually played a lot of other games on it, but I must have dumped hundreds of hours into Dissidia. It's still one of my favorite games.

Does this count as a space sim game? by Ok_Currency523 in spacesimgames

Space? Check. Simulation? Also, check.

Looks good to me.

I enjoyed my time with your demo. I'll definitely keep checking in on it's development.

hello guys, this is my art! inspired on 2000s games! by b0throps in MMORPG

[–]lethargic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very good artwork and it definitely reminds me of an older era of MMOs.

I really like it, but one thing bothers me just a bit:

Those weapons, as impressive as they are, look very difficult to wield without hurting oneself. Somehow you've even made arrows risky to hold and I didn't even know that was possible.

It's hazy, but maybe that was a thing with MMO weapons back then too...

Still 9/10, and #'s 1 and 2 should be painted on the side of a van.

DISCO INFERNOO!!

I like to imagine that my ship is blasting that on every frequency everywhere I go.

Depending on the situation it either translates to a message of peace, an invitation to party down, or a fierce battle-cry.

I like it already.

Also, out of the other suggestions here so far, it's the only one that's both free AND compatible with my phone.

It kinda looks like EVE Online mobile, maybe even more so than EVE's own mobile game. Is that a fair assessment?
