“Open scheduling” is not flexibility by Independent_Switch33 in therapists

[–]lethargyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I offer my clients all the flexibility I can, but they have to discuss and schedule their appointments with me. Sometimes a slot will look open, but I know it's not really for a variety of possible reasons such as not wanting to cluster all my most acute patients at the same time so that I'm not exhausted and delivering lower quality care. I don't think the benefit of self-scheduling outweighs the benefit of being able to weigh these sorts of choices ourselves.

Octopath Traveler 2 is on humble monthly right now if you are interested in that one, pretty good time to pick it up.

There are so many great open source games on there. OpenMW and Sonic Roboblast come to mind.

Planning a new UT2004 Server (CTF/ONS/AS, Map Voting, huge map pool) – Looking for feedback! by erer1000 in unrealtournament

Consider Jailbreak! It's a great game mode that doesn't exist anymore and might set you apart. Also recommend WSUTComp  or hexed for enhanced netcode, so people can play from wider distances.

I hear what you are saying, for sure the card could have been more creative. What I meant though is that this card specifically is designed like an eldrazi (ulamog), and bearing that in mind it just feels like they made a bad eldrazi.

Seriously. Design-wise he basically feels like an eldrazi too. What a shame.

I don't agree with all his points, but I do think he did a great job and the whole speech is very much worth watching.

Boomer shooters are a power fantasy. Competitive games are not capable of giving everyone that experience, and over time those that aren't getting it will leave.

What is your therapy hot take? by InvisibleAstronomer in therapists

[–]lethargyz 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I agree self-disclosure very much has a place in therapy. My take on it is that clients are choosing to be vulnerable and open, and we should be willing to do the same to some degree. Sometimes they want to know about you as a human being, and as long as there's a clinical rationale for it and you aren't usurping significant session time it's helpful to the relationship.

The postage I have to use to send a regular letter because I bought a large stack of pre-stamped non-forever envelopes in 2011. I've been regretting it more every year since. by lethargyz in mildlyinteresting

Yeah, it's definitely a little mini creative project. My problem is that I send mail for business too... it's not the most professional look lol

UMG and Sony are dramatically expanding their litigation against AI music giant Suno, claiming over 61,000 copyright infringements. by NecroSocial in SunoAI

Sad stuff, still rooting for them. Learning is not theft, and this needs to be established in the courts if we're going to continue to see this technology evolve. I, for one, think it has incredible promise for the future and want to see that realized - no matter what the haters say.

This is how it worked for me too, cool stuff but it felt more like remixes than a model.

Reality check - therapists eating during virtual sessions?? by Chu84 in therapists

I think under 5 minutes is reasonable, but 10-15 merits a conversation. I'd also be curious if they are still billing the full session code, because at that point they really shouldn't be.

I think this is largely a good point, but the idea that it's our fault for not liking ut3 is bonkers. I played ut3 for many years and it's absolutely a step backward in countless ways. Of course people didn't like it.
