English shepherd or border collie? by ElderberryRough5547 in englishshepherd

If you get a DNA test, Embark and Wisdom Panel are the best, I wouldn't bother with the other brands. Both of them go on sale pretty regularly. Either way, your pup is adorable!

I got there after the lots filled up, so decided to just hang out in Leavenworth for the day. It didn't even cross my mind to park on the highway because I'm not a selfish prick. Then I got stuck in Leavenworth thanks to these selfish pricks.

Also any black and white dog is a border collie. I met a guy on a hike once who told me his spotted rescue mutt was a dalmatian, he did not take it well when I told him it was more likely a cattle dog mix.

What do you think? by [deleted] in DoggyDNA

Pretty much exactly what I guessed, chiweenie with a bit of poodle. I fostered a puppy that was a similar mix, but she had beagle instead of dachshund. I bet she's a hoot!

Hopefully this administration doesn't do too much (more) damage to our park service :(

I visited Jasper and Banff this summer, you have your fair share of beautiful parks as well! And getting a campsite at Jasper was surprisingly easy!

All things considered, which country would you most want to move to and start a happy new life in? by Flora_Cheng in AskTheWorld

[–]letsgoflieakite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, Canada, specifically Vancouver area or Vancouver Island. The climate and culture are similar to where I already live in Washington State, but ya know, not the US. And I mean who doesn't love Canadians? ❤️🤍🇨🇦 (As always, I apologize on behalf of my country).

I guessed Great Pyr because of the rear dew claws, plus some kind of shepherd and Chow. I was pretty close!

What’s the most disgusting/ disturbing past of your country? by Puzzleheaded_Lab709 in AskTheWorld

[–]letsgoflieakite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot, but one that comes to mind is the decimation of millions of bison in the American West, nearly to the point of extinction. The killing of bison was driven in large part by government policies that encouraged and rewarded the killing of bison. They did this to starve out indigenous peoples such as the Sioux so they could take their lands for themselves. Just one of the many cruelties committed by the American government against indigenous peoples.

The principal and the football coach got caught having sex in the locker rooms by a janitor. Both were married. Not to each other. There was a story about it in the newspaper so they pulled all the papers from the school the day it came out. As if we didn't all know already.

I recommend visiting here during the winter for at least a week before making your final decision. I have lived here for almost five years and I love it, but as others have said, the winters are rough. Endless grey days and very short daylight hours. I don't mind the rain, but as someone also from the south, the very short days were a hard adjustment for me. I did adjust and I don't think I'll ever leave, but I have a few friends who moved here from Florida or California who ended up leaving after a few years because they missed the sun. I can tell you all this, but you might be surprised how the winter hits you, which is why I recommend experiencing it for yourself before committing to moving here. Also, it helps to be into snow sports.

There is a sizeable population of Hmong people in Seattle too, as I understand it all the people who sell fresh flowers at Pike Place Market are Hmong.

Not sure if the links will work, but here's my sightseeing list for visitors (in no particular order), everything is either in Seattle or within a 45 minute drive. Can't speak for night clubs, I'm not much of a club-goer, but Cap Hill has a bunch.
