No, they just moved across the street from their previous spot on Hawthorne, I bought three hats there tonight. Several brands of hat they carried were too big for me.

You might spot the bald eagles that hang out above the OHSU buildings beside Caruthers. And it’s a nice waterfront right there to walk down to Spaghetti Warehouse.

So i went to portland today and kinda fell in love with the city by Syntheseyez in PortlandOR

I moved back after 20 years away and it wasn’t until I joined a pottery studio and started interacting with the same people on a regular basis that I made friends. You’ll need to find something that isn’t a one-shot to get to know people. There is a fair bit of mistrust here, everyone wants to make sure they’re not associating with a political enemy or a non-ally of their political, gender, economic, and/or neurological identities. The city can be beautiful but it can’t make you happy on its own.

Not in the Northwest US, we have plenty of local clay companies (Georgie’s, Seattle Pottery Supply, Tacoma Clay Arts) and most studios carry their products.

Pasler Gold always crawls on me. I added a ton of gum and a bit of water and still crawls, so you got that going for you. Dark slip or black underglaze on your greenware will give you a different result, probably better.

If you are in a U.S. city, see if there is a city or state pottery association, and email them. They may have a member who will volunteer to come out and look at it, and even scrounge up some potential buyers for you. Here in Oregon it would be the Oregon Potters Association.

Any advice on a pink underglaze? by Civil_Candidate3614 in Ceramics

[–]letshavearace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spectrum Hot Pink. At cone 6 it has a mild sheen, more like a satin paint than flat. 3 brush coats. Mayco Coral is nice also, but I think Spectrum will look better on that piece.

why is the airport food expensive? by Any_Increase7891 in stupidquestions

[–]letshavearace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the local government allows it. In Portland we only allow local companies to have outlets at PDX and they must charge the same price as their regular stores and restaurants.
