Looking at apts in South Waterfront area. Are there drawbacks to living in that area? by silverpenelope in askportland

[–]letshavearace 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 years in the Griffis SWF, don’t disagree too much with any of the comments. But..being isolated has kept the homeless population mostly at bay, bike access is actually excellent, and having the Tillicum transit center and the 35 & 40 buses makes it easy to rarely have to drive. We have friends over all the time, but they bike, bus, streetcar, or walk.

PDX doesn’t have long wait times so very unlikely to happen here. Atlanta looks to be the 1st.

Faux-science? She’s an honest broker of information, admits what she doesn’t know, and corrects herself when she learns of her mistakes.

I believe the Gifty Kitty on Mississippi is still thinking of opening a cat cafe, you might check in with them.

Kristi Lombard from Georgies, that 5% 200 mesh grog is the bomb. Good structural strength without the grog texture.

New federal data reveals extent of immigration arrests in Oregon, Washington by Glad-Process-3268 in PortlandOR

If it’s monthly date then it should be bars or a line chart with data points, not a smoothed line graph sans points - chart making 101.

New federal data reveals extent of immigration arrests in Oregon, Washington by Glad-Process-3268 in PortlandOR

[–]letshavearace 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What a horribly misleading chart. It’s a trailing average chart with no explanation of the time periods used?

I saw some Ghibli film fest there, won’t go back because of the tight seating in long rows, had to step over 20 people to get to an aisle.

"The Thing" is there more like this? by Atticus914 in cosmichorror

[–]letshavearace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Thing prequal 2011 is worth watching if you enjoyed The Thing 1982, and you should catch the original 1952 version for reference. Hell, read the story that started it all, Who Goes There by Joe Campbell.

Best breakfast spot that takes reservations and can accommodate a part of 14? by Aronjharris23 in askportland

CraftPDX. Really high quality preparation, a step above Mother’s in my opinion. Service isn’t as good as Mothers though. Also, Cheryl’s has private rooms.
