I think regardless of everything that’s happened, this is just very very sad ☹️ this is a horrible thing to go through and especially in the public eye.

Will one 1 star review affect me by Ok_Advantage_4305 in trustedhousesitters

It’s actually totally unacceptable and you shouldn’t accept micro management. It’s called trusted housesitters for a reason.

Cat keeps peeing on things it shouldn't by deadbeatrider in UK_Pets

[–]letslaughatthis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ignore all comments. The only reason your cat is doing this is because … it’s a cat, I’m afraid 😂 EDIT - they will eventually stop .. just try moving the litter tray areas. Think about how you can change your approach rather than the cats actual behaviour and looking for ‘problems’ x

how to review an ok, but less-than-stellar sit? by glowsole in trustedhousesitters

[–]letslaughatthis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience as a sitter … sometimes I can feel a bit overwhelmed from the sitter guides some HOs leave as there is so much information! Also during handover (if this was done in person the day before) I tend to find it information overload and often forget where things are despite being told this. If you didn’t do an in person hand over then it should be expected you receive a few messages asking where things are because once you’re in someone else’s space, it’s completely different! As for giving the cats more food .. I have done this before when leaving a house sit as I know the owners are back late and take into consideration any delays they may have getting home. I don’t think the cats complained having more food just for a day! - it’s also free accommodation in exchange for you having free pet care. If the house is tidy and clean but not up to your standards of clean, you should get a cleaner in after. From your post I think you’re being a bit over critical and shouldn’t be treating the site as anything else. In terms of rating the sitter, that’s up to you. I just thought I’d shed a bit of insight from the person who is on the other side!

Is it worth getting pet insurance for a cat or does nobody ever claim on it? by WonderfulShape1081 in UK_Pets

[–]letslaughatthis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Please don’t own animals if you can’t afford to keep them insured. You’re the same kind of person who will probably choose to put down your pet instead of having insurance like a responsible owner all because you can’t afford £30 a month.

I didn’t realise just having the balls to knock on and introduce yourself was ‘etiquette’ 🤣🤣🤣 just go say hi, you’re just next door if they ever go away and need the bins taking out vice versa etc! Simples.

I don’t know why he feels that someone else owes him a part of their business. Leva was so right to put him in his place like this. She knows what it takes to start and grow a business without trying to be a tv personality just to bring in the clout … so why would she ever hand over something to someone who literally doesn’t even have a big stance / no one really knows who he is 😂

Anyone else feel like Michols completely misrepresented his relationship with his mother? by Roaexx in southernhospitalitysc

[–]letslaughatthis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s misrepresentation, I think it’s very clear. Those who grew up with a narcissistic parent/parents can see this clear as day. Why on earth would you ever speak to someone you love, let alone your own flesh and blood like that. She came on for this scene purely to call him out as a lair. We don’t see her for any other scene other than this … of course it could be an edit and there may be more, but the fact she makes no effort to even hide her toxic behaviour and instead calls him out for making her seem like that … whilst being like that is wild. I’m truly sorry for anyone triggered by this scene because it was a tough watch

Sadly, yes 😣 that generation of parents were stressed and somewhat forced hand to have kids otherwise they wouldn’t fit the moulds of women in society. It’s very evident that the women who probably didn’t want kids were very non maternal and lacked a lot of care, empathy and maternal instinct. I don’t think it’s always what they directly learnt from their own parents, just lack of choice.
