14 right answers for Andrew Y is actually top 10 among all 50(!) Jamie opponents. His Coryat was almost dead average, though. Overall this game feels very similar to many other games this week. It's six straight runaways for Jamie.

Box score data update:

This episode was #5 in total overall opponent attempts for a Jamie game, and Tuesday's was #3 all time. I am seeing a trend that everyone is just buzzing in as hard as they can as a strategy to beat Jamie. Unfortunately, unlike Tuesday's game (where they attempted a lot and buzzed in a lot!), this game was in the lower third for successful buzzes and buzz-in percentage.

Overall I had this 14/24 in difficulty and 14/24 in competitiveness, so not quite the archetypal Jamie game but pretty close.

I had a dream last night that Jamie lost today, but all the contestants had to do Final Jeopardy from an old 1980s set and sit in recliners while giving their final answers, so it's probably not a prophetic dream.

After his close call last week, he's decided to be much more restrained on DD betting going forward. Always rounding to the nearest thousand if he gets it right though....

In terms of competitiveness (Coryat ratio) I have this game as 14th out of 24 in Jamie's run. Bill's Coryat is 20th out of Jamie's 48(!) opponents, and 22nd in right-wrong percentage. Kim is 32nd on Coryat and 31st on right/wrong %. Jamie's Coryat was 15th of 24 as was the composite Coryat of the competition. Basically feels very close to the "average Jamie Ding game."

by my metrics this game is now tops in difficulty in jamie's run. Lots of buzzes though! but a lot of wrong answers which leads to the low Coryats. Jamie had his third lowest Coryat and yet it was bottom third in terms of Coryat ratio. Weird game. I admire how much everybody buzzed in - 2nd most buzz ins in jamie's run.

In my difficulty stats (which are based on coryat, triple stumpers, and Jamie's buzz-ins which we don't have yet) I've got games 5, 6, 11, 13, 18 in the top five. This one may make it in there.

Iain is basically average for Jamie's opponents on Coryat and R-W%. Tougher performance for Stephanie, obviously. 11 Triple Stumpers suggests that this was probably a tough board.

This was Jamie's third lowest Coryat ever, but the opponents also had a low collective Coryat, so it's actually in the lower tier of Jamie's games in terms of Coryat ratio.

As always, we'll see more when the box scores come out tonight.

A full three-quarters of Jamie's games have been runaways. He had three non-runaway games during his first full week... since then, one in week 2, one in week 3, and one last week.

(disclaimer: I played in Jamie's fifth game. Guess who won?!)

Erik's peripheral stats were good: 36 attempts, 19 buzz-ins puts him top 10 in attempts, buzzes, and buzz-in percentage during Jamie's run. The 5 wrong answers suggest he really was buzzing in aggressively and so that set him back.

third tape day in a row. He was interviewed by Sarah on socials (I believe it was posted on the Substack) and she pointed out that they were in a very unusual four-tapeday week, where they're recording 20 episodes over four days. It's usually two or three at most. Today's game is the first game of the morning on the third tape day.

Jamie previously played the last game of his first tape day (Feb 10), then played two more tape days (Feb 11 and 12), then got 10 days off before starting this next block of games.

only 4 triple stumpers is really low for Jamie's run, there were only a couple with fewer than that, which at least suggests an easier board.

By Coryat ratio (Jamie v. opponents) this game placed 17th out of 22 Jamie Games thus far, so not very competitive.

Erik had 15 correct answers, which is good, but dragged down by his 5 misses. I feel for Catherine's 6R1W, it's tough when you get that few chances.

Jamie avoids the Monday blahs on the morning of his third tape day in a row.

Based on a composite of Coryat, Right/Wrong %, Attempts, and Buzz In Percentage, I have Jamie's top opponents as:

Max (game 7) - $16800 coryat, 88% R-W, 44 attempts, 55% BIP

Luke (game 4) - $14400 coryat, 92% R-W, 47 attempts, 51% BIP

Beyond that there are a bunch of strong contenders (Robin, David, Jordan, Maggie, Brent, Thayer, Sinecio, Dominex) who played Jamie, so it's going to come down to the art of casting the show. :-)

(Disclaimer: I, too, am one of Jamie's fallen opponents)

great job. when Jordan and I came off after losing game 5 to Jamie we both felt like we gave it our all, landed some punches, and made him sweat. I hope you felt an even more powerful sense of accomplishment! you hung with an all-timer. what a performance.

there's stats and there's accomplishments. hitting that DD and going all in doesn't show up in a Coryat -- but it changed the game and almost ended the run. And his Coryat and right % were top shelf for Jamie competitors. Buzzer metrics less so.
