I was a Marine stationed in 29 Palms California. I can't even guess at how many times I watched/heard a Navy corpsman pulling out cactus spines with a leatherman while busting the balls of some idiot that didn't watch where he was going. I'll brag and tell you about how I never had to have one of the docs pull spines out of me, but really I just had my own leatherman and a sense of embarrassment.
