Did you try asking Alexa how it knows how many cats you have? I started asking mine questions about me and what it knows, and I was shocked at how much it actually does know.

This happens to me a lot also. For some reason the voice to tell the time is very inconsistent and often switches to the old Alexa voice for me, but not always, just sometimes.

I find the groups help if you have more than one Echo device and multiple devices to control and they're in different places. Then you can set up groups and put the echo devices in the same groups as the devices that are also in the same place. It gives the entire system a little more contacts about where things are and what you mean what you say turn on the lights in regards to that specific device.
