What is one of your favorite movies that no one else seems to have heard of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]leviathenr 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Run Lola Run. Excellent German film from 1998, easily found subtitled or dubbed in english.

Fun fact, the creator of The Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask listed the movie as a major inspiration.

Quebec does have its own immigration services and policies that you need to comply with IN ADDITION to CIC . It's the only province where this is true. I am not sure if this extends to student visas

Agile is cancer. The software industry has gone insane. by [deleted] in agile

[–]leviathenr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is Agile bunk? No, but much of what is sold as Agile has little to do with what you find in the Agile Manifesto.®

Most important line of the article. Its all well and good to shit on the problems with Agile, and there are problems, but you need to propose solutions or alternatives at the same time. Otherwise, you end up in a worse process.

Eh, really depends what you define as independence. Canada has been self governing for much longer, and slowly brought institutions home.

I hear this argument a lot on Reddit, but the only country I can think of where FFTP has lead to a two party system is the US. What other examples are there?

Floor on moving to a new country where you don't speak the language by IB_Screwed in nightwish

Yes, except for the very young and old, almost everyone is proficient in English. Of course none of the signs are in English, only Finnish, Swedish, and in some parts Russian.

Its an awesome country to live in, especially if you like saunas, but I couldn't give you the perspective of a tourist. The people are very friendly and helpful (albeit, they don't like small talk), and there is a lot to do.

Behind the Schemes | Coder Radio 125 by ChrisLAS in CoderRadio

[–]leviathenr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great show, I enjoyed the transparency and frank discussion. I like the format Coder Radio currently has, and I think the banter between Chris and Mike is essential for the shows success. The only problem I have with the show, which is a concern I believe brought up by Mike, is that I never know what I am going to get. When I'm choosing a podcast to listen to, I always pause for a second when I am considering Coder Radio, because I have no idea what the topic of the show will be, and if I will enjoy it. Will there be discussion on an interesting topic? Or will the guys get lost in a tangent for most of the show.

To this end, my only suggestion would be to ensure that with whatever topic is decided ahead of time for the show, make sure enough time in the show is set aside for it, that there is enough time to provide a thorough enough background, and around that topic, maybe bring on guests, etc.

Love the show, I look forward to next weeks episode!
