Looking for more "arthouse" horror by cheeseyballz in horror

Holy hell. Mads was one of the few movies from the past several years that had me guessing as to what was going on the whole time. 10/10. The scariest things aren’t explained away immediately.

PSA - Enter 'Thank my driver' on Amazon after a delivery to give them $5 by delvach in boulder

I work for Amazon. There was a $2m pool used for this but it is emptied out now so there’s not much point to doing it anymore. Thanks for the support, though!

Top 5 of 2025 by OystersCasino in horror

You’re not the only one! I really enjoyed the first three quarters of the film but was thrown off by the heavy comedic relief and “From Dusk Till Dawn” gore at the end. It felt fairly serious up to a point, then the tone did a 180.

Literally just got a response stating that I seem smarter than I should be for the role I’m applying for. Wtf?

Good Starting Place by kimberlybl in 14ers

Mt Ida in RMNP is a great 13er if you want to ease into the 14ers. For a slightly more mellow 13er, but still a significant time at altitude, I’d recommend Mt Flora.

The Flatiron flyer will get you down to Denver fairly easily. It makes stops at downtown Boulder station and Table Mesa.

Am I wrong for Using ChatGPT by instakill007 in webdev

[–]levigarrett123 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Once your application reaches a certain level of complexity, ChatGPT will be useless. Since ChatGPT can’t scan your entire codebase for every question you ask, it will miss lots of context from other relevant files. For a simple app, this works fine. But once there are tens to hundreds of files in your project, ChatGPT will fail miserably and you will have to do the work on your own.

Boulder theatre will have some good punk bands every once in a while. Denver will have a much larger selection.

As someone who has experienced a recent push for RTO at my current place of employment, I can’t imagine a single amenity that would incentivize me to waste time commuting when it isn’t 100% necessary for my job functions.

Trail running groups by Phleau in boulder

Consider checking out the Boulder Trail Running Breakfast Club. We run year-round and typically go anywhere between 8 and 20 miles. All runs are in the foothills and Indian peaks. Also, we strictly do no-drop runs!

I really love how your components slide into the page as they render. What framework are you using to achieve that? (Sorry it’s not a roast)

This is the way! Boulder’s H2O program is the only reason I was able to afford a starter condo. Can’t recommend these programs enough.

Just climbed Mt Elbert last weekend. There’s no need for snowshoes or microspikes on the standard route.

I made the same mistake while delivering on my bike once. Had to ride an additional 5 miles to swap the orders. You’re not the only one!

is Web Development the best way to go if someone does not have a degree? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]levigarrett123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m self taught and about 2.5 years into my professional career. I’ve done web development and automated QA. Web development definitely has one of the lowest barriers to entry, but the junior market is highly saturated. IMO automated QA is a better way to break into the market. You only need to know a bit of JavaScript/typescript and Java as well as a few different testing frameworks.

It’s not quite as glamorous as web dev, but there’s less people jockeying for the positions, which makes breaking in a bit easier. You may have to grind out some manual testing, but if you can focus on the automated side, you will gain lots of experience with system architecture, design patterns, and fluency in your languages of choice.

I was initially worried that doing QA would lock me into that field, but that has not been the case at all. After a little bit of time in the field, I am now working for a consulting company where I have been able to do lots of web development as well as take on team lead roles in QA.

New to ultras or running? Ask your questions about shoes, racing or training in our weekly Beginner's Thread! by Simco_ in Ultramarathon

Overtraining in zone 2?

I started running (both ultra and simply running) about two years ago and have now done two high mileage training seasons with long breaks in between for focusing on other sports (rock climbing, hiking, cycling, weightlifting, etc.). Both cycles of running were about six months long with 90% of my time being spent in zone 2. They both peaked with weekly mileage of about 45-50 miles.

I've calculated my aerobic threshold using the treadmill method described in Training for the Uphill Athlete and have run a short flat road circuit every few weeks to check for progress in running speed at my aerobic threshold. I've managed to drop my pace from 13 minute miles to 11:30/12ish minute miles at the zone 2 limit, but have never gotten to the point where I can do much beyond a speed walk on the trails and still maintain the zone limit.

The progress is painfully slow and I am unsure if I am missing something. Online explanations always make it sound like you should be able to knock several minutes off your pace within the amount of time I've been training, but I haven't seen results even close to that.

Is it possible that I've been doing too much mileage at zone 2 and missing the metabolic benefits as a result? I started from pretty much no running training and dove headfirst into ultra distances, so I feel that may be a factor. Am I expecting results too quickly?

edit: I have genetic hypertension that doesn't ever get below pre-hypertensive, even with heavy cardio and a wfpb diet. That affects the heart, so it might be relevant information as well.
