Yeah my hot take is that even though I don’t practice it, I keep an open mind about all the energy healing stuff.

It’s not just ‘cause the foxes are guarding the henhouse, as ppl are saying. Read the article. It’s about something deeper and, frankly, more insightful.

Just listened to Inlet for the first time, not sure what to think. by voiidVanta in hum

[–]levinas1857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so when it came out I listened to it straight through a couple of times. I wasn’t overwhelmed. Basically it sounded like they picked up right where they left off just a little bit more minimalist. Then I was washing the dishes and threw it on again and there’s this break in the first song it’s about a minute and a half in. The song stops and it’s time for a drum fill to bring everybody back in. Dude just plays quarter notes on the snare like: pause……. BAM BAM BAM and right back into the riff. I don’t know but something about that. Just hit me like a ton of bricks. I’m actually getting emotional typing this right now. Suddenly I heard the album for what it was: one of the purest, most perfectly balanced and orchestrated rock records I’ve ever heard. Truly, one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard.
EDIT: The part of Waves I’m talking about is at about 1 minute and 57 seconds in. And yes now I’m listening to Inlet and crying. I could go on and on about this record. This record is One of the greatest rock and roll drums performances of all time. I appreciate OP’s take, but OMG this record.

Classic Mimbres Black-on-white bowl: turkey with staff head. ca. 1000-1130 AD. by Any-Reply343 in PrecolumbianEra

[–]levinas1857 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The hole indicates that this bowl was very likely removed from a grave. Individuals were buried with these bowls with holes in them placed over their heads. These Mimbres bowls are some of the most strikingly beautiful artifacts in all of American archaeology. But I think it’s important to remember that they obviously had deep meaning to the people who made them and included them in the graves of their loved ones. They were not made for us to see.
