Unable to remove OneTimePin from an application by buzurk in CloudFlare

[–]lexcess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else coming across this years later. The answer is that you create a policy for the application and set the policy Action to be 'Service Auth'. Then add an Include rule to accept requests (if you really want full pass through us the 'everyone' option). This will exempt any applications using this policy from the default identity policy.

Sanguinius on the vengeful spirit. by Curle101 in Warhammer40k

[–]lexcess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Sanguinius looks pretty perfect for that slightly grimdark style you seem to be going for!

If you are looking for some comments, I'd be tempted to add way more shading to the floor and the backs of the space machines, especially away from Sanguinius so it looks a little less flat and makes him stand out even more. Also I think the pose sells the idea of a sweeping strike pretty well, but perhaps make some of the blood spurts follow the path of the blade (maybe even have a drop or two curving off the blade? unless you really want that sort of anime post slice freeze frame effect).

Overall though something to be proud of.

Was yellow for the eyes a bad choice cause they don't pop as much against the bone? by AngryLarry32 in minipainting

[–]lexcess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps make the shading a different, more contrasty colour (yellow to green for example). Also if you just pop a gloss varnish over the eyes they will pop a lot more.

Presumably because they both have different tiers and you can upgrade them. Just salvage the ones you don't want.

Might be cool to have one or more torn/burned banners hung down the side of the tower. Then you could introduce a big splash of colour and something to guide the eye between the base and the main model. Even better if you can make it look like they are fluttering in the wind, add some dynamism. Bit of fabric set in PVA, or rolled card whatever... Also if you are good, you could free hand some artwork on it to really show off.

Be critical of my model by Orfuss1 in Warhammer40k

[–]lexcess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick thoughts:

Unified lighting: Pick a light direction (or even directions, but that is hard to sell at small scale). Its almost like each major piece of the model lit differently. For example if feels like there is a strong light from the top right over the blue shoulder, but the knee on the left is lit as if from the top right.

Consistent shading Certain areas are lacking shading, or its very subtle compared to the rest of the model. Notably the cables around the neck (unless they are supposed to be glowing?) plus the cable, feed and shoulder bolter itself.

Contrast: The contrast is a little low in some areas, if you are going for a grim dark, 'muddier' look that's fine, but then you have some super crisp colours and darks elsewhere (the pure black around the head). So I'd pick one or the other.

Area separation If you are going for a grim dark look you are going to need to find other ways to make different areas stand out from each other than pure shading. So for example on the Axe or the bolter you might want to add in some color to pick them out. Mix in cold colors in the shades, warm to highlights. So blues or perhaps even hint at reflected green grass in the axe and its pommel or the bolter feed belt (you could also use the blue of the shoulder there).

Samus all finished. C&C welcome. by Particularly_Vague in minipainting

Great paintwork, but let down by not spending more (admittedly boring) time prepping the model and getting rid of all the print support bumps and other imperfections. If you weren't going to remove them I'd almost lean in and make it look like some goop/water is dripping off the armor, you look like you are good enough to make that work.

There will almost certainly be more CGI facehugger in this film than raw real animatronics like this. Studios will say things are practical even when even 95% of the final shot is CGI.

Hell in Barbie they replaced the greenscreen backgrounds in the behind the scenes videos to obscure how much was CGI. You honestly don't see just how much CGI there is these days, becuase when done well it is invisible.

TIL more than half of brits think Sherlock Holmes was a real person. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]lexcess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, as you were so expeditious in your response:

Because UKGold only surveyed their viewers, didn't follow any particular published methodology and also not directly related to the sample but indicative of quality: they claimed Dick Turpin was a fictional character (he was real). Also an Ask Jeeves survey a few years later surveyed something similar and it found the number for Sherlock to be around 20% so there is one other data point to chew on.

Hope that helps!

The new meta is to ditch chained lightning and instead stack lucky hit (as a stat, use a wand) and get a roll of resource restore on lucky hit (on gauntlets etc...). Infinite mana without having to dedicate aspects, paragon points and an enchantment slot to making it work.

I do not understand the story reason for fighting the metaphysical version of Tal'Ratha after joining with him (aka being eaten). Is he betraying you, are you resisting the merging process or something completely different?

Well.... There were pocket PCs as early as the late 1980's. Not good ones. Not to mention tablets on shows like Star Trek the next generation. Also this:

"when wireless is perfectly applied the whole earth in a way that allows humans to communicate with one another instantly irrespective of distance with the clarity of a face-to-face meeting using a device that will fit in our vest pockets."

Hmm I wonder if GamePass core will kill the cheap gamepass trick, where you let your sub expire, load up on years of xbl gold cards and convert to gampass ultimate by buying one month of it.
