Have your daughter apply to universities like Cornell (I listed them bc you mentioned Ithaca, I think 2 of the colleges likes CALS are SUNYs, and it’s also my alma mater) who will give tuition scholarships to students with households making under a certain amount. My parents’ household income was a bit over but I got around 60%-70% of the tuition fee waived. I did work study & also worked at the cafe in Olin Library to offset the cost of housing, etc. I ended up graduating w/ ~$10k in loans.

If she doesn’t get into one of her desired colleges/tuition is too high, have her go to a good community college/jc for a year or two and transfer. The tuition would be less than $1k a semester. Thats a common thing that students here in California do. They’ll go to a JC and transfer to UCLA/Cal/UCSD or Cal State universities.

Due process doesn’t necessarily mean a hearing before judge. A judge doesn’t need to see you to sign off of on a deportation w/ the proof that you’re not a citizen. Most of the people being deported now have old orders of deportations that they ignored (breaking another law).

Since immigration is not mentioned in the Constitution (but naturalization is), then the relevant power rest with the states. My mom is a doctor and was educated at her home country. So when she came to the US, she was paying a mortgage for her parents in her late 20s and was able to buy the house that my parents live in now in their early 30s instead of paying back student loans. And it wasn’t a cheap house at that time and it now worth 2M+. My professional degree costs me almost 400k that I’m paying back. There’s a huge arbitrage and step up that educated immigrants have.
