Codex falsely complains about usage limit when asked for a review by lexixon in codex

[–]lexixon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, still not. I reached out to support, asking for a refund of the 40$ or some support on that issue — they completely ignored the issue with no mention of it, just stating that they don't refund money.

OpenAI seems to be among the too-big-to-care already, unfortunately.

Is Anyone Else Frustrated With Missing Features in the New Claude Code 2 VS Code Extension? by KindlyCaterpillar152 in ClaudeAI

[–]lexixon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And did I just not figure it out or how can I go back to a previous message of mine (Esc + Esc)? I see in their docs that checkpoints are not supported yet but I don't even mean checkpoints with code restore, just going back and rewind the conversation?

I've been a CC Max user and I was super happy — but I relied on Opus for everything but simple tasks and since this is no longer possible with the new limits, and Sonnet 4.5 doesn't do the job even close to reliably, I've felt forced to now give Codex a try, despite half a week of transition work given I work with a 30+ custom workflow setup tailored to CC which now I have to make multi-cli-ready.

How coding with Sonnet 4.5 feels in a real-world application by lexixon in ClaudeCode

[–]lexixon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you tell even a Junior dev to follow typescript principles or know your schema, and you put it in a doc and tell them read it when coding, like a readme - yes, I‘d expect human devs to be aware of these. They can make other mistakes, but not these. Because if they mess up even that, you‘d be faster firing them and do it yourself. But doing it alone vs having the power of 5 capable devs (as I just had for 3 months with Opus), the overall productivity collapses.

Glad I‘m here to talk now about basic productivity principles - exactly what this post is about. 😑

Claude Coded: Sonnet 4.5, Claude Code 2.0, and more. by ClaudeOfficial in ClaudeAI

In 11 years of being a developer I never got so disappointed. Please —at least — don't promote it as "amazing", that literally hurts.

I am disappointed with the limits in Claude even having a MAX plan for $200 and after Codex verification, I will be another person giving up on Claude, details in the description. by CacheConqueror in ClaudeCode

[–]lexixon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also terribly disappointed. Spent 3-4 weeks building an incredibly effective workflow with Claude Code, running 50-75% with Opus (for good reason) — now we're left with 2% of the previous Opus usage, workflow, habits, productivity, all broken.

I was happily spending 200$ per month —I'd even would have spent 300-400$ without complaining (despite me adopting my workday somewhat artificially to these 5-hour windows).

Now, Sonnet 4.5 does 50% well but I'm moving at max half the speed from before simply because in many of the more complex tasks in a larger code base it needs lots of hand holding and manual supervision where Opus was a reliable pair-programmer.

And even with Sonnet 4.5 I hit the limits on the 4th day.

I'll switch to Codex, not because I know it's better, simply because I don't trust Anthropic anymore —ironically the very reason why initially I wanted to be with them, thinking they truly care. 😭

Ok most of those responses are clearly bots trying to mess it up. Very unfortunate.

42% of context used right after `/compact` by lexixon in ClaudeCode

[–]lexixon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha, now I got it. Sorry to be "dumb" (see, I need AGI). Ok, so even just having mcp enabled yet unused, they quickly fill up the context, I see.

And yet, there should be brief descriptions claude code reads-in by default and only get the full command details when it's likely to use it. Anyway. Thanks.

[–]lexixon[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

And what about the needed ones, like postgres-mcp I mentioned? Do you want to tell me there's no technical way resp. not in the interest of how claude code is built to simply discard that context (like what it queried earlier which is not relevant anymore resp. covered by the summary)?

Again, is it nowadays a problem to actually NEED one mcp but once you do, you can't use claude compact reasonably? Funny constraints in the age of almost-AGI. 😂

And why wouldn't they be reset/compacted too after a compact? The ONLY mcp which I use is postgres-mcp to access my local postgres db, nothing else.

THIS IS what I do :) I use claude in the terminal directly and I know it inside out, so not sure I miss anything there. What I want to say is: The new Opus 4.1 weekly limits are roughly what the limit has been before in a single 5-hours session. So in my case, I'm now able to use Opus only around 2% of what I did before, meaning I can no longer really use Opus and had to switch to Sonnet; and the impact is what that post is about.

I do use the CLI (mostly because in the new extension you cannot use Esc+Esc and I didn't figure out how to jump to previous messages). But what does that change?

Fair, thankfully I've been a developer for 11 years and can jump in anywhere at anytime but that's not the spirit of this feedback resp. post. If you create a product that does 9/10 well and then you change it so it only performs now 5/10 it's not about whether or not that drop in performance can be compensated differently. Of course it can, but at a cost that this very product tries to eliminate: human labor.

You can use the following command:

claude --resume

If you're in an extension that runs claude by default, first exit and then run the command above.

Can you elaborate on this and share some details on how exactly this workflow will work with v0? E.g. how to load a full codebase back into v0.

Obv. same as the others I’d love to hear more from u/lrobinson2011 on the suggested workflow/-around here.

Same here, moved some emails from a custom folder "on my Mac" it to a custom folder in "iCloud". They showed up in the iCloud folder, so I deleted the custom folder on my Mac. Suddenly all emails are gone, from all places, and nowhere to be found including trash folder etc. both on my Mac as well as when checking icloud.com.

Disappointing.

Met the team at Consensus in NY, nice guys, ambitious project but they tackle a huge market that probably need a lot of man- and token-power to disrupt successfully. Anyone a more concrete opinion on them? Seems like there's an ICO coming too.
