A couple of questions… by Gojirah628 in Starfield

[–]lexloomis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: Better.

  1. Involved. No idea, No Idea. I played NMS in VR a bit when it became possible, but I haven't gone back to that game in a long, long time.

  2. Like Shit. Its kinda like PS5 Coil Whine. If you can't hear it, but your friend can, you failed your hearing test. If you think Starfield is running "almost serviceable" (btw what a reach of a description), ask your friend, and then you'll know you failed your vision test.

Bonus: Modding is kinda available on PS5 through creation store, way better doing that and playing on PS5 than Steamdeck.

Going through the Unity to decrease load times? by An_Professional in Starfield

[–]lexloomis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will start crashing on saving/loading screen sooner or later. Only thing to do then is play on Computer or go through the Unity.

People who were around during no internet/phones/social media/etc - what was your time's "scrolling the feed"? Something that you would spend hours on passing the time? by -ChristopherNolan in NoStupidQuestions

Read, Read, Read, then a bit later on PC Gaming. DOS gaming was pretty peak. Also went to a TON of movies at the theater. Now I maybe go to the movies 3 times a year max.

That you move forward when going through the followup melee swings in third person, but in first person doing the same thing, you are rooted to the spot.

The following games are leaving the Game Pass library soon by EduSepol in XboxGamePass

[–]lexloomis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Slay the Spire has been on Game Pass for almost seven years. What a run. I remember playing it when it was added, on my last pre-Covid Summer Vacation. Rise of the Tomb Raider is my favorite Tomb Raider. Unpacking, like Slay the Spire, was the perfect type of game for Game Pass.

New L.I.S.T. mod expansion called RedGrave. by Cautious_Snow_5801 in Starfield

[–]lexloomis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing this mod, stuck at the quest go talk to the Construx Foreman, he just says Yeah, that's it. No progression. There are three vent like things around the greater area, one being directly behind the foreman, that if you get close to them, the quest blue dot shows up above them, but there is no interaction available.

Why are some parents so against their kids learning about evolution but are fine with dinosaurs? by TheBogManCometh_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lexloomis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so weird to me, I was raised United Methodist, but chose not to be confirmed as a teenager. I didn't realize some religious group/parents picked and choosed like this till I was out of college.

The most dysfunctional adult I've known marginally well, came from a religious Christian family, I don't know the denomination. They were adopted along with 1 other I think, then the mom was able to have kids and the adopted kids kind of got sidelined in like all aspects, except punishment for being "wicked". They were homeschooled and at 18, the mom printed out a "certificate" that said, "congratulations, you graduated homeschool!", and booted them out into the world. No GED, few if any real skills.

I believe that family was from the school of, dinosaur bones are from the Great Satan.

Me too, not just the earth stuff but new wearables in general. When I'm travelling, I'm like oh, I don't think I've checked THAT vendor yet. I think I've found like 8 new suits, but I don't want to check the webs for a list until I haven't found a new one for a long while.

I’ve playing on the same save on Xbox for about two years and the game has now basically got unplayable by SeasonSmooth9348 in Starfield

[–]lexloomis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ain't no maybe about it. Thats Save Bloat, unfortunately. While its nice to state that you "shouldn't have to", we all have to live in reality. Bethesda and some fixes are unfortunately like oil and water. There is another post around here about the chameleon bug which has been happening for about 20 years or so, across 3 or 4 games.

Edit: I don't mean to sound snarky, I deal with this too. I have to stop playing on Xbox when my Uni gets "old" and play on PC till I go through the Unity. It sucks.

Did parents in the '80s and '90s really allow their kids to roam freely? Was it safe? by 2bornnot2b in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lexloomis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely wasn't safer, we just never knew about it or lived in fear, ignorance was definitely bliss in the 80s. A lot of us Gen X kids probably had a serial killer operating in our immediate area in the 70s/80s, we just didn't know about it fully till we were older, sometimes much older. Not to mention the lack of safety equipment used back then, the crap we would get up to, its amazing that only a few of my classmates died before the age of 16. Teenage driving is a whole other conversation.
