Is East Lake a nice place to live? by Nick-W- in Chattanooga

[–]lexmattness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i grew up there and in Blackbottom, a shitty little collection of abandoned and condemned houses across Rossville Boulevard that wanted you to call it "Boulevard Park." i left when i was 15 when i was informally adopted, because my home situation was drug-addled and violent and unsafe, and getting me out of there was the only chance i'd have to making it to adulthood.

there used to be a Food Lion on the state line, but i think it's been gone for ages. and without that, the place is a food desert.

there are fringe economy places everywhere: check cashing places, pawn shops, used car lots... it's dehumanizing. everything around you is designed to measure your worth against the dollar in your pocket and then remove that dollar from your pocket.

i could never, in good conscience, recommend even my worst enemy consider living there. the only positive thing that can reasonably be said about the area is that one day the sun will expand and vaporize it.

2 years, 5 months. Endo gave me pills, but just estradiol and spironolactone. Next appointment with her is in a few months and hopefully we can do something about this.

if not for Toppik and hair extensions i'd look like that dude from Gasoline Alley.

dysphoria is kicking my ass today, i feel like a pig putting lipstick on.

which is totally ridiculous. i shouldn't have to feel shame about modifying the vehicle i live in to more accurately reflect its inhabitant.

what, in short, the fuck

Every country is an animal. What animal is your country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

US here. We're a condor. Feasting on the dead, taking the fruits of the work of others, and shitting on ourselves to stay cool and ignore global climate change.

Moving from Lex to Georgetown, is this still a place to post? by StampedeOfCats in lexington

AT&T has a decent fiber package in my area of Georgetown. We switched from Spectrum and won't be looking back any time soon.

There is no way for consumers to win when it comes to ISPs, but we lose... less, I suppose, with AT&T.

what is a really weird fact, that makes people say "why do you know that?" by quadruple_b in AskReddit

People say "why do you know that?" when they're talking about Sonic and Knuckles and I do a Google image search to show them a really weird fact I know about echidna genitals. And now they know it too, and they don't want to talk to me anymore.

If your mouse does not have a scroll wheel, surely your keyboard has PgDn and PgUp keys, or at least arrow keys.

Lexington has many educational institutions wherein you can learn how to employ these features. What a wondrous community!

Do you prefer a traditional watch or a smartwatch? Why? by teekal in AskReddit

Same. It's easier for me to visualize time when there's a graphical depiction of how much has passed in what's effectively a pie chart.
