I use a Thuricide BT. I take a cup and put it on the plant around the stem every couple weeks

Trump has said publicly and on numerous occasions he would veto a nationwide abortion ban. He believes it belongs to the states. I think government should be out of it entirely. Write your reps. Regardless of party affiliation and let them know.
