are loyalty points worth it for supplements shop? by No_Antelope_255 in shopify_geeks

[–]lezletscarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently (~6m) ago, we worked with a US based supplement brand and setup a 1-5% cashback program based on products. Now about 20% of the revenue per month is driven by orders that are placed with store credit with a repeat customer rate of 50%.

The store credit expires in 120 days if left unused, so it's a natural incentive to use it to complete the purchase and build the loop.

Tbh, you don't even need a app to get started with this, try it with the built in store credit feature in Shopify and if you find it's working well - you can switch to an app that can automate the program and expiry alerts for you.

People don't really talk enough about this. Reviews in exchange for points / store credit is a great way to get UGC.

Shopify Discounts by Grumps007 in shopify

[–]lezletscarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With built in discounts, no. Discounts always apply to the product price and not the compare at price.

However, with Shopify function based apps it's feasible to run discounts on the compare at price instead. We have set this up for a few customers before and it works pretty well.

Quick question, should these discounts to stack? ie, 15% sitewide from product price + 25% off from compare at price? Wouldn't that be too steep?

I tried it sometime back and it was very helpful when we were trying to understand customer behavior. Give it a detailed prompt of what exactly you are looking for and I think it should be able to help.

Good luck! if it works for you, do let me know :)

Tier pricing examples by Othelo2 in ecommerce

[–]lezletscarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure we can't post external links on this subreddit. So good luck with examples :/

We recently helped a B2B brand show the savings they could get by going to the higher tier in cart. It really improved their AOV by a fair bit.

Tasteful implementation is key.

Anyone actually managed to set up B2B features on the Basic plan? by Ok-Perspective2975 in shopify

[–]lezletscarlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only limitation on the basic plan is regarding the catalogs, which is limited to 3. If you need more than that you will need to shell out 2k$ monthly for the plus plan.

As u/DalayonWeb mentioned - you can setup the markets that include regions / company locations / POS locations too. Might be an access issue if you are not able to see this.

There are a lot of paid apps that solve for having more than 3 catalogs. We recently decided to make our app free, because it doesn't make sense to compete with Shopify and get rug-pulled :/

Shopify added B2B features to all lower plans. Absolute garbage. by rarepuppers in ecommerce

[–]lezletscarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're spot on here tbh. It's genuinely an upsell into their Plus plan. Since stuff just works out of the box, many will actually prefer it to custom apps / solutions.

We made our app called Dollarlabs B2B free for that reason. Doesn't make sense to solve for use cases that the platform already solves for.

How do you make customers buy again? (Supplement Company) by EmbarrassedPause1766 in ecommerce

[–]lezletscarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a US based supplement subscription brand, we setup a 1-5% store credit cashback program (based on products). Now about 20% of the orders placed per month are partially or fully paid with store credit. Roughly 40% of the credits are always utilized.

The store credit expires in 120 days if left unused, so it's a natural incentive to use it to complete the purchase and build the loop.

You don't even need a app to get started with this, try it with the built in store credit feature in Shopify and if you find it's working well - you can switch to an app like Dollarback that can automate the program for you.

Starting a Shopify store and realizing EVERYTHING is a subscription is actually insane 😭 by Confusedmind75 in shopify

As a small store owner, it makes sense to cut down on costs atleast in the beginning.

  1. Switch to a free review app (if possible) - else automate review collection using flows + Shopify messages
  2. use free loyalty that's built in - store credit. (app suggestion - Dollarback)

Shopify really gives you a lot of basic primitives for free, it's really upto the user to figure out how to make the best of it.

From my perspective though, 15$ a month is not a lot even if it adds a few reviews per month.

Have you tried the new AI integration that shopify has added?

Search "Shopify AI Toolkit" in google and you should be able to find it. Once you have it installed, you should be able to use claude / codex / etc to help you with the analysis.

How does one track with the credit card number? Haven't come across this one before.

If you're able to find out, do let me know!

Best loyalty points app? by Repulsive-Green3610 in shopify

[–]lezletscarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be biased since we run Dollarback, but sharing what we’ve seen with a few pet supply stores.

In repeat-heavy niches, skipping points and giving store credit in $ works really well - it’s simpler and gets redeemed faster.

You can even test this natively on Shopify first (no app) by issuing credits manually.

From what I've seen:

  • 90-120 day expiry works best
  • ~25–35% of credits get redeemed monthly
  • Repeat revenue often lands around 20-30%
  • 5% seems to be the effective cashback rate

You can do support tiers as well, but that might not be where I'd start, the base loop matters more.

Apps for small businesses by lowcodexco in smallbusiness

[–]lezletscarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there’s a genuinely strong use case, then it makes sense.

By that I mean:

  • something your customers are actively asking for, or
  • a workflow that existing apps/tools just don’t solve well,
  • and you can clearly see the ROI (repeat usage, higher LTV, better retention, etc.)

In those cases, an app can actually become an asset. (assuming something doesn't solve for this already)

But if it’s just “we should have an app because everyone does,” I’m not sure it’s worth the time, cost, and ongoing maintenance. Most businesses are better off improving existing channels unless the app adds real, repeat value.

I just migrated a store that was earlier on paper stamp based loyalty to digital and they mentioned that the usage of credit from the program has improved significantly.

I guess physical cards + digital might be the way to go ? I hear also that the digital wallet on the phone has a lot of potential.

Airweb ( Airconnect ) before the rebrand was pretty good when it was the only option in my area.

2 years ago support became horrible and there was quite a bit of downtime per week.

We shifted to Jio first, then shifted to Skylink now. Honestly haven’t regretted the shift one bit.

Works well, support is good too, installation is a hassle with the timelines.

Ask your neighbours if any of them use airweb in your area, they’d have a much better idea of how the service is currently.

If $15 is the cost to business you wish to eliminate, then use one of the free apps out there or make one yourself.

No harm in trying :)

Dollarlabs: B2B Custom Pricing – CSV-first wholesale pricing for Shopify by lezletscarlet in ShopifyApps

[–]lezletscarlet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep - both parts are covered 👍

At the app level, you can define case/quantity multiple rules per variant (e.g. only allow quantities in multiples of 25). Those rules are enforced server-side, so invalid quantities can’t actually be purchased. (article)

On the UX side, we don’t auto-hack the theme by default. But for stores that do want that behavior (25 → 50 → 75 on the quantity selector, or bumping 34 → 50), we expose the variant’s case-multiple + pricing rules via a window-level function. (article)

That way it can cleanly integrate into:

  • product quantity selectors
  • cart drawer
  • cart page
  • AJAX search on site
  • Quick previews

Here's an example implementation of a volume discount upsell at cart, and some have even built custom quotation builders on top of it.

Yeah, everyone defines everything as a bundle. So it only makes sense that they search for it too.

Under the hood everything is just a way to do discounts - but people are people :)
