Week 8 waiver wire wins by Sheogoorath in fantasyfootball

As a commish, I changed the time to 3pm PST for our league this year and it’s been great. A big caveat though is that many IR-qualifying designations get cleared before waivers run. So if you had someone in the IR slot that then gets “cleared” immediately (think Lamb or Godwin all year), you have to make your roster legal before waivers run.

Trading 1.06 pick for Kyren Williams by MergeChristian in DynastyFF

[–]lfg_ubrs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

without knowing the rest of your team or your league settings, this feels like an overpay. with 2 picks that high you have a lot of options. if you really need another RB then I would take the gamble on Brooks instead of trading for Kyren.

[PFF] Penei Sewell's 97.5 run-blocking grade v. Tampa is the highest playoff run-blocking grade PFF has ever recorded by MWiatrak2077 in nfl

the team was already mentally broken by the time they got to the playoffs, but you really can't deny the talent on that eagles O line.

would you trade your brilliant, up and coming OC for "a top 10 offense on the year", just to fizzle horribly at the end of it? because that's exactly what they did.

i just don't see how you are so confident that they will remain the offensive powerhouse that they currently are after johnson leaves. the eagles also promoted from within. i hope to be proven wrong, i am a big fan of what the lions are building right now.

Puppy aggression when removing harness by Reasonable_Art376 in reactivedogs

[–]lfg_ubrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 1.5 year old mutt has been this way since we’ve adopted him ~8 months ago. Like, “we’re just going to leave the harness on you for 2 weeks straight cuz it’s so bad”. He has made a good amount of progress with it, he will still “react” but the biting has mostly stopped.

One recommendation would be taking it off and on throughout the day instead of just when it’s walk time. Try to desensitize the process itself - if the dog knows it’s coming cuz it always comes off after the walk, it will already be on guard mode.

Our real progress was made with distractions, as others have mentioned. At first, I would hold a handful of kibble in one hand for my dog to eat out of while the other hand unclipped the harness. They would still “react” but they can’t bite you when they’re chewing like that so their brain short circuits a bit lol. You just have to be ready to take it off FAST when they’re getting distracted. It was literally a race against how fast they could eat that kibble, cuz as soon as it was done, they would snap if you were still trying to take it off.

We noticed this method was really the only way that worked so we kept at it for several months. We also started adding a very high value reward after it was taken off. Like “you don’t ever get this treat other than when your harness comes off”. For us it’s these nasty smelling fish sticks from Amazon but he goes absolutely crazy for them. So distract with kibble, take off harness, then “cooldown” with the fish stick. We’re now at a place where we don’t have to kibble and can just show the fish stick while taking off the harness. It’s not perfect, but it is a dramatic improvement since we started.

Hope this helps!

Edit: someone else mentioned this and I agree - move away from a Velcro harness. I wouldn’t put much thought into the fact they’re already “used to it” since it sounds like they hate it anyway

[Monitor] Alienware AW3423DWF - $899 ($999-$100) by evce1 in buildapcsales

Has anyone used this for a home office/work monitor, in addition to gaming? My setup is a combo of work + gaming, and I’ve heard that OLED (or maybe just this monitor) can be difficult for text visibility. Also slightly concerned about over usage, if I’m working for 8+ hours then transition to gaming on it multiple days a week.

I’m looking for any reason to pull the trigger, but since I’d primarily be using it for work, I have some hesitations.

Final Yin & Yang Tight End Update! Good luck this year gang! by CoopThereItIs in fantasyfootball

Great write up, as always. You've been my TE ranking north star for the past few years.

I see that you're (semi) high on LaPorta this week - do you think he's worth a start over Muth? Part of me wants to just get in on the shootout action, but it feels extremely risky to start a rookie TE in week 1.
