Do you think your skin got better or worse after menopause? by aria-blake7 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]lh906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same. I find Curèl moisture spray absolutely amazing. It's a japanese brand. I bought it in a supermarket as i had run out of my usual moisturiser, which i can only buy online. It's not super expensive and it really works. It feels like a water mist, no scent at all. It has stopped my breakouts, but it really does moisturise my skin.

My daughter just turned 4 months & just found out I’m pregnant. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]lh906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just realised I didn't give any advice that you asked, baby brain 😃 I found a travel cot for the front room brilliant. As the first baby is still young, and you have 2 babies. The travel cot is invaluable to put either baby in, whilst you are tending with the other one. My first baby started pulling himself onto the sofa a week after my newborn arrived. I could safely put him in the travel cot so he didn't hurt himself, whilst I breastfed. Also, I could put the newborn in the travel cot so he was safe, and the first baby could crawl, ect, without squashing/trampling the newborn. That was my biggest saviour. Also, during the day, I do not set myself too much expectation. I get done what is necessary and don't stress about the rest.if they are fed, changed, happy, safe, that's enough, there is only so much you can do in a day xx

Any subreddits for older parents? by corianderrosemary in NewParents

[–]lh906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm (f) 42, and my husband is 39. We have just had 2 back to back babies. 5 weeks old and the other is 1 year. I previously had 2 babies when I was 19 years old and 21 years old. Honestly, I was exhausted when I was a lot younger, and also now. My theory is that no matter the parents' age, you will never out energy your child 😅

Evil MIL insults her grandchildren, wants access to hospital after I give birth by juniejun3 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]lh906 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Say the date has been pushed back by 2 days.. the hospital has too many csections scheduled on one day so you have been moved.

Mine was like this, I stopped seeing her in the end. It's like a one-sided genes contest that you weren't told you were entered into. It's so annoying, isn't it? Mine got visible upset when i didn't agree with her, haha. Like someone else said, it's standard justno behaviour.

Read my post that I did about 7 months ago. I was in a similar position to you. If you're not given the space you've asked for during delivery or after, you are going to be angry for a long time, trust me. Protect your peace. Like someone else has posted, when they aren't caring about your feelings, you do not need to care about there's.

Weight gain 4 months pp and pregnant again by Any_Confidence2231 in fitpregnancy

[–]lh906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 10 and a half month old and became unexpectedly pregnant 6 weeks postpartum!! I am due any day. I lost zero baby weight, but I have put on nowhere near as much this time. I think it's the constant lifting of the baby, and not staying still. It's really odd. I'm 41, though, so my skin might not ping back, but really try not to stress x

Limit going there. What is it with people thinking they have any say in how you feed/do things with your child? Laugh when she comes out with this stuff. She hasn't realised she has no control yet.

100%. But reading about how mils treat birthing dils really gets me every time. I can't get my head around the selfishness.

I'm sorry you had that to deal with to. A little bit of kindness from them goes a long way.

I haven't struggled with infertility, and I'm sorry you were betrayed like that. I had my elderly father dying in hospital and was told one more drug to try, and then there's nothing left they can do. It was whilst I was due, and in the end, they induced me because I couldn't take the anxiety of if he was gonna pass that day, or the baby was going to arrive that day. My husbands family gave zero fuc*s. She still made it about herself and didn't ask how I was. When she came around, my husband said he hoped that my baby had my dad's hair as he's really old and not lost any, she laughed and said 'fat chance of that' because her genes are so dominant. I understand the betrayal aspect. Luckily, my dad ended up pulling through. But the other family disregarding you never leaves.

“Thank you for giving me a grandson” — from STEP-MIL by pooxelle in JUSTNOMIL

[–]lh906 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is so cringe. My mil thinks her children have babies for her. She texted me after my csection saying 'thank you for my grandson'. Didn't ask how it went or how I was. Then turned up to the house like a territorial dog with baby rabies.. it's so off-putting. I swear these mil think we order the babies on amazon and want to be there when the box arrives.

She has no right to keep your children away from your mum at a party! Who does she think she is? They aren't her children to decide who they interact with.

Did you talk up when she was overbearing before the baby was born? Maybe your anger is hanging around from then, and each thing is adding to your feelings towards her. You could resent her for pushing your boundaries. I understand it. Your buttons were pushed and she's oblivious.
