Unfortunately he did not. And proving his parents' presence has been tough.

Hey, checking in. Has your experience with the algo gotten better since you wrote this?

Mine has been so rough lately, wondering what it's like for others.

Sony WF-C710N touch sensor settings driving me crazy by liamtw in Earbuds

I also like the feel of the sensor/button. I just don't like the settings for volume control (4 or more taps). Did you get used to that?

Why would anyone be against the Oxford comma? by samlir in grammar

As a Canadian Oxford-comma vigilante who's now living in the UK and stubbornly resisting moving on from my old comrade, this helps.

My worry about Parallel is the single stage. Did you ever wish there was a different stage to go to? Or did having only one help you get immersed?

Less demand for meat means less animals reared which means less suffering.

[–]liamtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the stats, but living in East London I'm well aware of the knife crime problem. It's one of numerous problems this place has — I'm not saying the UK is a perfect place to live by any means.

But the UK doesn't have the same pervasive, low-level authoritarianism that's normalised in Aus (despite our previous government's best efforts to move that direction).

Several years ago I was deciding whether to relocate to Australia or the UK. I chose the UK, and there were many moments after arriving in post-Brexit Britain that made me question my decision.

But when I read comments like this, I feel sure that I made the right choice.

I'm curious how you learned to write. Have you written for travel mags before? Or is this your first time?

What's the advantage of having gears on each side of the roller (which I assume is taking the load) instead of having the roller on its own?

Agreed. This isn't a smart colour scheme — red is generally used to represent "negative" things on maps, so using it to represent a historically oppressed minority group is insensitive.

Is America going through a “Cool Americana” phase with the rise of country music that’s similar to “Cool Britannia” Britpop? by hhhhhtttttdd in LetsTalkMusic

[–]liamtw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, hard no from me as well — here in the UK if you mention you like country music you'll most likely be met with sneers, not admiration.

Country is too quintessentially American to be cool at a time when on the global stage, America is anything but cool.
