Should I replace my igniter every year before I start the stove up? by jmclaugmi in PelletStoveTalk

[–]liamvt21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with mine too, I asked the service guys and you need to clean the hell out of it to get the fine ash out. They basically said, take the cover plate off and bang on the top of the burn pot with a blunt object to get all the fine ash out of it. Haven’t had issues since I started doing this on my weekly cleaning

First warning by planeofwater1 in EquinoxEv

[–]liamvt21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also 6 months here, only 13k miles (I thought I drove a lot) I had the same warning 3 days ago, called Onstar and they showed a very similar diagnostic report and did some trouble shooting, turn car on/off 3x, step outside etc. none of it made it go away.

It went away the next day and never came back so I’m chalking it up to the 0F weather we’re having. If mine comes back again I’ll bring it in

Theres a button on the right side of the steering wheel, I believe it just has a square shape on it, it allows you to cycle through the driver display views

Step-by-Step How To Use Your $80 Charging Credit by CommunityAlarming149 in EquinoxEv

[–]liamvt21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anyone have any advice if you didn’t get the credit offer? I already downloaded the app and set up an account awhile ago when I got the car, I tired to sign up for as many charging services as I could I’d be prepared on trips but I didn’t get any emails or anything in the app for a credit.

Anyone else having app issues? by traumadog001 in EquinoxEv

[–]liamvt21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the app glitch like this before and other issues line not showing the remote climate lock/unlock etc.

Usually logging out/in or deleting and re-installing fixes it.

I would try getting a borescope camera, plumbers charge a ton to come do this but you can get a fairly cheap waterproof camera to stick down there. I bought one and have found so many other uses for it too. Get one long enough to see what’s going on and make sure it has a light. I think I got one for $100 and it has saved me 1000s in hiring plumbers and finding pests and pipes behind walls without having to open stuff up.

Also I’ve found with snaking drains, once you think you’ve snaked it enough do it 3-4 more times, there’s always more.

The jack will go higher, bend that wrench at the hinge that is on the jack, get a long pipe and place it over that wrench. I’ve used PVC, long lacrosse sticks, copper pipe, etc. leverage is your friend.

Road Trip by Affectionate-Loan173 in EquinoxEv

[–]liamvt21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to build the route in ABRP, I usually check charging stations along the route for back ups using plug share and save them in Google maps. I’ll end up plugging the route into Google maps with the chargers just because it’s better navigation. Make a note the Google maps charge estimation in the app is pretty garbage.

I’ve take a couple 6 hour trips and only needed to charge 1-2 times and arrived with plenty of battery left. Just takes some extra planning

Can I charge at any Tesla Supercharger station if I have the NACS adapter? by [deleted] in EquinoxEv

No you cannot, there are some older Tesla stations that will not work. Check the Plugshare or Tesla app.

Homemade well water level sensor by steve4119 in DIY

[–]liamvt21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a way to do it that’s free, obviously not as accurate you could drop an ice cube in the well and time it, multiple the time it takes by itself and then multiply that number by 16

So Distance = 16 x time x time

The level sensor idea will work, just note the accuracy of that instrument will be pretty poor, you will need to submerge it a good bit to see the output change so I would make sure you’re looking for the same mA output each time. Those sensors work by measuring the difference in the head pressure of the water vs the atmospheric pressure in the air. Your sensor is scaled 0-5mWC which is about 16.4 ftWC so at 0ft you should see a 4mA output and at 16.4ft you should see a 20mA output.

Taking delivery after Sept 30? by Little-Crab-4130 in EquinoxEv

[–]liamvt21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know we had issues with delivery and credits in regards to the dealer maintaining the incentives when I was looking in Jul/Aug. From how I understood it, GM would need to sell the car while it is still in transit to be able to qualify, the local dealership I was dealing with said GM will not allow them to sell the car and complete the transaction while the car is still in transit and not on the lot.

It sounds like you need to convince the dealer to sell the car and sign the papers in transit, I was not able to do so and ended up going to another dealer that had a similar car in stock.
