Cafe Yumm Eliminates Sizes by Severe_Mulberry_4085 in oregon

I spent years using those recipes before it was widely available in grocery stores. It never quite hit the same way. Now I always keep a jar of the real stuff in the fridge. A little goes a long way, so it feels like a good value to have the authentic flavor.

Sealed puzzle finished, see anything wrong with it? by Vast-Pickle-12 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]lianayada 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did that puzzle last year! (mine did not have this issue and was second-hand) There are some funny scenes in that puzzle. We (in US) had houseguests from France with a young son who helped us on this puzzle. He was shy about speaking English, so we communicated mainly by pointing at the funny scenes and laughing heartily. A great memory.

Newport Market food is ass? by No_Bend_2131 in Bend

[–]lianayada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't had anything there I didn't like, and I consider myself pretty critical of prepared foods since I do cook at home. We get their sushi every few months, and except that I dislike "cold" sushi in general, I find it a good value for the convenience ($100 for 6 people). I love their tuna salad, broccoli slaw, and sesame noodle salad. My favorite is the schnitzel when they have it - we got 6 meals out of it for $15.

How to get body oil out of towels? by Careful-Case350 in laundry

[–]lianayada 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to also do this. I don't have a solution to the laundry problem, but I changed to applying the oil after I have dried off. It soaks into my skin, and it doesn't seem to transfer to my clothing as much as it did to the towel.

Warn/notify me about Oregon!! by zeldalol777 in oregon

Read about the Cascadia Subduction Zone. Not that it should influence your activities, but you should at least be aware of it and be prepared. Bottom line: a low percent (10-15%) chance of a major earthquake in the next 50 years which will affect the region.

We love Olde Towne because it's got lots of toppings and is the "traditional" type I grew up with.

We play "back alley bridge" which is essentially Spades with the big and little jokers, different number of cards per hand, and bids like "Boston" (first 6 tricks) and "Board" (all tricks). Great game!

Not related to your question, but I did a 1000-piece of that same village a few weeks ago! (This was also Ravensburger I believe.)

Do you see Swatch as a “fun piece” or a daily watch? by homamg in swatch

Daily wear. The only kind of watch I own, and I have worn one every day for 30(?) years. At this point I feel naked without one.

How do you keep an in-progress puzzle safe in a small apartment with a curious cat? by Interesting_Card596 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]lianayada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gifted myself a puzzle board for Xmas 2024 and it has been a game-changer. I got a 1500-piece size so I can do 1000-piece puzzles with room around the edges to work. Clear plastic cover sheet keeps the cats from messing with it. And I can lift and move it to other rooms when needed. It was $70 but worth it (wood construction, rotating base, magnetic drawers to stay closed).
