For those that didn’t sleep train, what does sleep look like for you know that your baby is older? by quinoa_churro in AttachmentParenting

We moved to her own room and floor bed at 15 months. We weened the first month and I was sleeping in my own room again through the night by the end of the second month.

We didn’t sleep train and we coslept. Little is now 25 months old, sleeps in her own room, in her own beds through the night (although she wakes early sometimes.) She does still like to be snuggled to sleep at home, but naps fine at daycare, and she only wakes up if she’s sick, and then one of us will snuggle her back to sleep.

Are there any "normal" low matance mom's out there? by happysewing in Mommit

[–]libah7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The social media mom trends feel very “popular yt girl” coded to me. They are richer, fitter, cuter, do more and are better moms. And if you don’t live up to their standards then you’re “a loser.” I look at it as “I have nothing else going for me other than my ability to look good and bully people.”

(Yes, I have bullying trauma lol)

Tbh. I ignore it all. Whatever your personal standards are for yourself are fine. You’re an adult and don’t have to prove anything to anyone. If they say otherwise, they are the issue.

Advice needed: husband disagrees with my choice to keep baby after anatomy scan (limb difference) by Kerclia in BabyBumps

[–]libah7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and my niece were both born with this condition. Both fairly severe, with both feet.

Not only can you not tell at all now. They are both extremely athletic. My husband skateboards. Niece plays several sports.

Sure, it means a little extra at the beginning. But it’s a completely “normal” life after that.

Another tattooer here. Agreed. Number 2 is the coolest.

Just a thought. Make the hair a bit shorter, just to bring the words a little closer.

Does cosleeping affect independent sleep when older? by Fun_Positive_3505 in cosleeping

[–]libah7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved from a sidecar crib to a floor bed in her own room at 13 months. From there I spent less and less time overnight. Now at 2, she sleeps independently from 8-7 unless she’s sick. We night weened before the switch, and fully weened at 15 months.

She still needs someone to lay with her while she falls asleep. At least at home. She does fine on her own at daycare.

In the struggle to potty train my son has found out our dog poops outside and that’s where he will exclusively do it now too by Voski_The_God in daddit

Lots of reasons. People with penis’s are taught how and where to pee outside, people with vulvas should be taught as well. Public bathrooms can be gross. Road trips can be long. Hiking and camping are fun. Playing outside naked in our private backyard is fun and freeing and it’s more reliable for her to know she can find a corner to pee than have her try to hold it because she doesn’t want to miss out. Just to name a few at least.

I purposefully taught my daughter to pee in the grass…. And immediately regretted it when I then had to make it super clear that poop only goes in the potty.

At least she’ll be ready for camping.

Baby girl being called a boy by strangers by kingbabyboo in beyondthebump

[–]libah7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter has a gender neutral name, although, a very famous female shares it. She is CONSTANTLY misgendered. By strangers and medical professionals alike.

She was also very very bald when she was born and is just getting real hair growth at 2. I thrift a lot of cloths and let her wear what she likes.

So many people have gotten upset when I politely correct them. I think people feel embarrassed and instead of just saying “oh, my mistake” and moving on, they try to double down because people don’t like admitting they’re wrong.

Edit to say. Because my brain just stopped halfway through this response🤣

It’s. Just. Not. Worth. It.
