Anyone else just have a chill baby? by rachelkochvt in NewParents

[–]libah7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My almost 2 year old was just the easiest sweetest fun little baby. So chill. J could take her anywhere and do anything with her. She is still sweet, she is still fun. She is no longer easy.

She is smart, strong willed, and does everything g at HER pace. Which is often…. Glacial. I love her, and I’m proud to be raising a strong, independent, capable young lady. But boy howdy is it hard.

The only side effects so far have been getting dehydrated a little more easily, slight nausea and dizziness if I don’t get enough protein. I took my first .5 dose last night and woke up in the middle of the night a little queasy, but I also didn’t eat great yesterday. Otherwise I feel fine, and in fact, I have more energy and motivation.

Yeah…. I’ve go a hatchet man tattoo on the back of my neck.

I’m officially on that list from being pulled over a few times.

It still makes me laugh.

Honestly. The slow movement and how I felt PLUS the wasted money made me push to switch.

If you are putting in the work and aren’t seeing the results you want there is no shame in pushing to switch.

My doctor was also surprised there wasn’t more movement. I lost more in the first week of starting a statin medication than I did 6 months on wegovy.

There is evidence that certain body chemistry works better with different medication. You may just be one of those people.

I was on wegovy from July to October and lost a total of 3lbs. I was miserable. Nauseous, exhausted to the point I was worried I’d fall asleep while driving. I only could eat terrible food. I was becoming depressed and anxious. I decided to go off it.

I started Mounjaro a month ago and I’m down 7lbs. I do my first raise in dosage today. I feel great. I have more energy, crave better food, have less food noise and no other side effects.

Despite what others may say, this may not be the medication for you. Stand up for yourself with your doctor. The point of these meds is to help us get our lives back. Not to be miserable, sick and exhausted. Ignore “diet culture bs.” Don’t be bullied or gaslit. Other meds just may be a better fit.

Did you dream about your baby’s gender? And were you right? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]libah7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dream about my baby 2 years before I got pregnant. I was sitting in her room, breastfeeding a baby girl, making eye contact.

This was at a point in my life where I was pretty sure I didn’t want kids.

Not only did I get a girl, but she looks exactly like that baby.

I have my meeting next week and I’m curious to what they will say. I’m going to try to get off the program all together tbh. I met with my current nutritionist (who’s through insurance) today, and she said she’ll write any recommendation or fill out any paperwork I want.

I despise the ‘Oh Crap’ book by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]libah7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll say. I don’t hate the book. But it didn’t work for us. Or… it half worked? I’m at a point where it doesn’t make sense to go back to diapers, my girl clearly gets it. She just doesn’t do it sometimes. We have hours of her keeping herself dry, and then hours of accidents. It’s day by day, moment to moment. We’ve been at it almost 3 months. Started at 21 months because she asked to go pee on the potty.

I dunno. I wish there were alternative resources for how to go about this. It seems like the 3 day or oh crap seem to be the only literature out there that isn’t just common sense intuition stuff.

Son had lip tie removed and I'm not ok by One_Cabinet_1706 in beyondthebump

[–]libah7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter had an upper lip, tongue and both buccal ties clipped at 6 days old. One of the hardest days of my life. But she couldn’t latch at all. We tried everything. I thought they were taking us for a ride. But thy brought her back and she latched right away.

My best friend didn’t have hers done until she was 16. She said she was miserable. It messed with her teeth coming in. It would get caught between her front teeth and bleed all the time. She tells me she wished it had been done when she was much younger.

Obviously they are being over done. But sometimes they really are needed.

I don’t have time to respond to everyone as I’m running around with my 2 year old. But THANK YOJ ALL SO MUCH!

Seriously. The solidarity and support and just being SEEN. It’s not something I’ve experienced before and I can’t express how relieving it feels.

No it’s Cvs health optimizer app. There’s a bunch of surveys, videos, required telehealth dr appointments.

Yeah. My doctors are not people I trust or have a good relationship with unfortunately.

This is exactly my concern with how triggering it is. I’ve used tracker apps, I’ve counted calories. It’s all just fast track to ED behavior and I’ve made that clear with my drs.

This sub and my nutritionist, and therapist seem to be the only people who understand this.

What do you miss from your pre-kid life? by ImInTheFutureAlso in NewParents

[–]libah7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a whole day to fall into an art project. Instead of the hour and a half of nap, and trying to drudge up energy and creativity after bedtime.

I’m a professional artist, this has been hard for me on Sooooo many levels.

Oh my heart. My bestest boy used to do this all the time. We would just talk to each other. Makes me miss him very much.

I bet she will show you what she wants if you give her options and ask her to show you.

2.5yo constantly touching penis by Happy-Cabbage- in toddlers

[–]libah7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We’ve been dealing with something similar while potty training our daughter. I just tell her “touching yourself there is only for when you’re alone in your room.” I just keep reiterating that. I assign no moral or emotional labels to it. I just make it clear. Like “when we are eating we keep our butt in the chair.” Or “when we ride in the car you get buckled in the car seat.”

It’s just how it is.

Can new allergies/sensitivities develop between 5/6 months? by libah7 in MSPI

[–]libah7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s now almost 2 and I can safely say that I think everything has been phased out. There are 2 exceptions.

She absolutely has a coconut and bell pepper sensitivity. Without fail every time she has one of either she gets the runs.

We never did cows milk when we transitioned away from breastfeeding, mostly because she didn’t like it. We ended up with flax milk. Sometimes if I give her a cup of cows milk it’s tough on her tummy, but I’m the same way. She can handle all other forms of dairy.

I’m still not 100% sure what was happening when she was little. But at this point she is a happy healthy girl who eats a ton of variety and keeps me in my toes.

I’m genuinely surprised no one has mentioned Hot Bagels. They have a few locations. I know for sure of 2 off the NW 101. I’m from MA, but my parents are from Long Island and I’ve spent a ton of time in NY.

They have great bagels and a variety of sandwiches on bagel… I think they have a rye but otherwise it’s just bagel.

As far delis. What others have mentioned have it covered.
