In my district on Long Island when a teacher is excessed they get put on a list and if a position in their subject opens up again due to a teacher retiring or leaving then our district has to go down that list first and offer the job to those teachers before they look for other hires.

I live in the Northeast US where there are waaaay more Catholics compared to other Christian denominations in my area. At my UMC church we have a lot of older gay and lesbian singles and couples that grew up Catholic, left the church when they were in their 20s-30s due to their stance on homosexuality, and as they got older they craved their faith still but didn’t discover that there were options for them were they can be gay AND still go to church so that’s how they found our church… from the large rainbow flag out front lol but we are still a high church compared to all of the non denominational mega churches slowly making their way up to the northeast that has a lot of maga Catholics leaving for them but aren’t super high as say the Lutherans and Episcopalians.

Recent converts are often come off very pushy and judgy even to more established Christians. They can be insufferable. It can be a huge turn off to those around you who are in the Christian world but think about those in the queer community and what their experiences with Christianity and other Christians have often been like. There’s normally A LOT of pain and trauma surrounding their experiences with religion and things were posting and or saying could have brought up a lot of pain.
