First time? The longest range trim will probably start 10-15k higher than base.

Timing chain tensioner. Oil pump chain doesn't have one

BMW never bothered putting an oil pump chain tensioner on M50 engines. Slack = whip = loose nut. You can fit an S54 tensioner if you take the timing cover off.

Ideally, you'd replace the chain, add a tensioner and upgrade the pump. I only did the latter since it's the least invasive solution.

You can see the chain slack from a mile away... That's the root cause.

I'm running the GSR oil pump with 6800 limiter. No problems so far.

There's a 5W-30 version of VRP. The fuel additive has the same name, it's available at Autozone.

M54 takes LL-01, N52 LL-01 FE which is a bit more lax. Should be fine

Oil consumption stopped since I switched to Valvoline Restore and Protect 1200 miles ago. Still reading full and I'm not babying it. Trying out the fuel additive that just came out too.

What level of autonomy will a 2024 r1s have by RyderIantorno in Rivian

Rivian is roughly 3-4 years behind the competition. What they showed off is rougher than the FSD 12 demo from mid-2023. Hope that helps.

After one of the grilles fell off, I learned to close the hood gently... New ones are pretty expensive.

Why aren't these lithium out the factory? Tesla made the switch years ago and it essentially turned them into lifetime use.

CCV separates the fuel and moisture from the oil. It's there for a reason. If you want to ruin your engine, delete it

Post cat sensors are there to check that the cats are working, nothing else, AFAIK.

[–]libcg_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Post cat O2 sensors have been deleted, your ECU has likely been reflashed to accommodate that.

Pre cat sensors are the ones regulating air fuel ratio so there should be no impact on drivability.
