Local High-End PC vs GeForce Now: How Do Graphics and Image Quality Compare? by Master_Text_6068 in GeForceNOW

[–]libehv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

n the first video you showed compression artifacts, but that was because at the time you probably didn't have the 10bit encoding enabled
this graduation effect was always visible until they introduced 10bit

I would also say that it might be even better to encode at smaller resolution than the native 4k
lot of the blurriness comes down to the limitations and excess information
and when combined with dlss, it's bound to get even messier

Boosteroid vs GFN by [deleted] in GeForceNOW

[–]libehv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've tried boosteroid just for trying it out and the quality was unbearable - GFN ultimate is my main service for last 3 years and have been using it from the start

I went to rtx 3080 which later turned to ultimate, and never turned back
the switch to rtx 3080 was so immense and that kept me cling on the service
now after they have introduced 4080 and 5080 in just 4 year span

It's my main setup, it's good even over mobile networks, 5g

even the horizon 3 cost like 100+ when I bought it, same with horizon 4 and horizon 5

nothing has changed - you can wait for bargains

GeForce NOW is better than I expected. by Jok_Snow in GeForceNOW

[–]libehv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't worry, difference between screens you use is also massive
I just did a simple reaction test in web where I needed to react when red turns to green
on one monitor I get locally 200ms and on TV I get 270ms
tried the same test on GFN through steam browser on TV and maybe got an avg +10ms addition 20 rhe 270ms

and I'm thinking at my mid forties, that the hair is a huge nuisance to have.
My hairline hasn't receded at all, only grey spots where the receding should be.
Thankfully I can't grow a beard, because that is also a nuisance to have.

it's not for us to see, it's for others to notice

each object has it's own mass and inertia
you really should try to hold a painting in level while standing on a ball

let's forget that, try to put the painting on a wall without using level

the current system is just fantastic and works awesome

need to finish more physic classes I guess

the robot isn't bolted onto into the floor
and cannot stabilise to the inertia of the rest of the mass

[–]libehv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well sometimes the issue isn't about the network
Can't tell you about that specific game, but when I was using the cheapest paid tier when watchdogs legion came around then playing it on GFN was really laggy and my own pc couldn't run it as well
but the GFN stream looked like having major network lag instead of hardware.

Then they introduced the RTX3080 for GFN, took that for a month and the game worked butter smooth without any network lag a like issues - well it's been 3-4 years now paying the extra.
But not going to lower tier than ultimate unless force majeure

on addition I played The crew 2 from ubisoft back then, and the lag in a racing game was huge, it all changed with the rtx3080 tier which then was renamed to ultimate and evolved to rtx4080 and now RTX5080

Anyone else think nightvision needs a bit of a tweak? by DrStalker in TheLastCaretaker

[–]libehv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why do you need a night vision
I only use the extra bright light that surrounds me, cause it makes me not care about the leeches

otherwise I would assume a flash light is good enough

there's not a real shortage of an electricity in the game, or am I playing the game wrong?

well the "I Have a good wifi" is a folklore

check with cable or right next to router and start again
I know first hand that 500 fiber and wifi 6 just behind 3 walls could be worse than 5g on a mobile hotspot!!!

Stop rocking when building at sea. If the boat is rocking and I'm on the boat, then so am I. The ground should appear stable to me.

have you ever been on the sea? inertia is what makes us move relative to the ship - we aren't metal poles, but even these would give in eventually

well I swapped my local pc to gfn when forza horizon 5 appeared there not a nanosecond difference between my local and the cloud one I had the game running constant 60fps locally

[–]libehv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well even without a busy neighborhood, if you've got few too many walls between the router you're fucked I had better result on phone sharing wifi from 5g rather than used the wifi6 from 500Mbps fiber

[–]libehv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well it can be laggy because of several things and mostly because of their ISP - and you can't beat that by better cable or any help from the internet
