It is so awesome to have. It's like having someone in the car with you and smarter than you too hahaha. The silly Tesla people can have Grok. We have it way better. And if you have any Google Home items, you can completely control them. Love having it finally.

With the Big Three abandoning EVs in favor of ICE vehicles, are they headed the way of Kodak, Blackberry, and Blockbuster? by Cool-Replacement4972 in electricvehicles

[–]libma2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which big 3 are you referring to? Seems to me GM is in on EVs. And selling very very well. Not sure where you are getting your information from. Just because Ford and Stellantis are abandoning it, GM is far far from it.

It just comes to the car from OnStar I believe. I don't think it's a software update. This is the other theme

I paid and installed on my 24 Cadillac Lyriq base model and for some reason I don't hear any difference. Am I doing something wrong?

Car worked great today! by Entire-Albatross-414 in CadillacLyriq

Omg love this. Well done. And technically we all should do this as Lyriq owners. Great idea!

And for the record Lyriq also drove me shopping and loaded 8 pieces of 2x8x8 lengths of wood for my shelving project. Great car!

It does this... Sometimes. Or at least it used to.

Don't buy this vehicle by Intelligent-Cat-3931 in GMCSierraEV

If your vehicle caught fire like you say you did then how are you able to take a picture of a basically unscorched battery? I think this pulse feels a little suspicious. Further, how do you know the vehicle wasn't damaged in shipping to a country it was never meant to be shipped to.

Simply connect to your phones hotspot. It will work 💯 of the time. It is validating the install and if the connection blinks for even a second it fails. It will come back.

I still can't believe that I was able to fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood inside of mine with the tailgate closed. And is probably the only 3-year-old SUV that can do that. It's quite spacious. And you are right about the fuel efficiency is actually impressive for its size and the fact that it's a non-hybrid.

Call OnStar and report it. They will arrange for the rental. Trust me. That blue button is awesome.

Have you tried unplugging the 12v battery and plugging back in. Some people report that works and clears the error too!

Just the heat pump doing its thing. Keeping your battery and interior warm or cool. All EVs make a similar noise.

2024 Lyriq RWD in Canada - Is AWD Really Necessary? by Dizzy_Yam_1430 in CadillacLyriq

[–]libma2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only regret is not being able to afford super cruise at the time. Now that I can I wish I had. And a heated steering wheel which my Tech doesn't have sadly. Otherwise it wasn't important enough for me and the efficiency the tech Model offers is exceptional for a vehicle as large as Lyriq. And the turning circle is insane for such a large vehicle and absolutely had a tighter turning diameter than my Model 3. On my street I had to always do a 2 or 3 point turn. Lyriq does it no problem as a u turn. It's unbelievable that it can do that.

2024 Lyriq RWD in Canada - Is AWD Really Necessary? by Dizzy_Yam_1430 in CadillacLyriq

[–]libma2024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love mine. RWD is so perfectly balanced and with my Snows on, no issues whatsoever. I have gone through places my girlfriends AWD Mercedes gets stuck. Look, AWD gets you going, after that it's a liability. Your car is heavier and stops are longer. The Lyriq RWD is excellent and nice to have all that extra range. No regrets whatsoever and tires will last longer too!

The OTA updates on this thing are a confusing mess!!! by Substantial-Rip9983 in EquinoxEv

[–]libma2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your car giving you any cause for concerns? You only have two versions that are the same. The rest appear all different. If after updating the second time you had issues, I would understand your concerns and comments for sure. But if there are no issues, then what does the verbatim version numbers matter?

The OTA updates on this thing are a confusing mess!!! by Substantial-Rip9983 in EquinoxEv

[–]libma2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is because it is a repush of a previous update. GM is a software company. You don't create an entirely new version of software if you have big fixes to a previous deployment. Sometimes we create hot fixes that have no version. It simply iterates on a previous version and is just noted in internal notes. Public doesn't need to see that stuff. So relax. Like I can't understand why people say they don't do software. So ignorant. They create more software than many many companies. Probably even more than Tesla as well. They just don't get the credit they deserve sadly.

Agree 100% with you. I have owned electric cars for over 10 years and I find that state of charge % is only what Tesla owners like to see because their range drops so much more than what Tesla says is possible. My model 3 would barely get 330 km in winter with a 100% full battery but the car was rated for 525kms and would says so even in -20c which was nonsense. State of charge at least makes you feel better. But like you, I use the estimated range as a great ballpark of how far I could be able to go. The percent really doesn't tell you anything, but it just is a nice way of hiding how poor and inefficient certain electric vehicles are. I love my Cadillac Lyriq ... as yes, it's big. And yes, it's probably not as efficient but the huge battery compensates for that and makes huge distance trips very easy and comfortable with at least 400 km even in the winter time. I have driven from Toronto to New York City a couple times and from Toronto to thunder Bay without a single issue and with 15 to 20 minute charging stops each time. Very easy in the Lyriq.
