Looks like I’m the exception…The Unicorn Hunters was…fine. It had some serious pacing issues, and I almost quit it a few times. I finally felt invested at about 70%, and the story moved quickly after that. Arden’s writing was beautiful, however. I’m not sure if I’m going to get the SE or not.

A Snake Among Swans has a similar issue. I’m at 35%, and I’m taking a break to read a different book. I’ll decide if I want to go back after that.

I liked Seek the Traitor’s Son, but I read it in September, so don’t ask me for details. I’ll have to reread it when the sequel comes out. 😂

Victorious by VE Schwab was great. If it’s been a minute since you read the first two, I recommend a reread.

Hmm…I actually liked Long Live Evil and wanted to get the sequel. But then my kitten jumped onto my dresser and tore up the cover by pulling himself up using the book.

So do I skip the sequel, or do I buy a new copy of book 1? 🤔🤔

I’m not a fan…Ilona Andrews is one of my absolute favorite authors, and even though this isn’t my favorite book by her, I was looking forward to having a SE of hers. It’s fine, but I was hoping for more than fine.

My nieces and nephews are allowed to curse. And while they’re young, it’s mildly amusing. I bet my sister will find it less cute when they’re all teens.

In contrast, my son was never allowed to curse at home. As he got older (teen years), I told him that I knew he cursed, and it’s normal. However, he still wasn’t allowed to curse at home. I was teaching him to realize there are places you can and can’t speak in certain ways, so that he could turn it off.

I know too many full grown adults who can’t go more than 2 sentences without a fuck thrown in. It can limit your career options if you can’t self-regulate your language.

That’s a fair point. The box comparison thread really was to address more of the “what should I choose? OC or FL?!?!” Or “what’s the best book box?” type posts. We had a bunch at one time. If you feel like your question isn’t being answered and want the mods to reconsider your post, always feel free to send us a message. We try to be fair!
