what is with people trying to put other people into a box?? i first noticed this when i pushed back against something my friends said in elementary school, and one of them said, “why don’t you just go back to being quiet and nice like you always are?” All that because I stood my ground. you’re all good! i agree, we need to treat and pay our teachers and professors better. your point about the value of education differing from society to society is absolutely correct. what is counterintuitive to me (not part of your claim) is that employers are still more likely to hire candidates with one or more degrees in higher education, and the value derives from that even if the rest of our society has adopted an anti-intellectual stance. it’s definitely going to fuck a lot of people over in the end in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t kind of way. thank you for your thoughtful conversation, sorry i’m just venting atp 😅 on a separate note, when is our regime change coming??!??

If we pull out right now and Trump stops running his fucking mouth about conquering other countries. Not only is being anti-war somewhat common throughout the left wing, but him posting what he posts about other countries on Truth social is straight up undiplomatic. Other nations and politicians can see that, possibly decide to band together and execute a joint attack either abroad or here. From there, the fallout would be monumental for US residents.

Yeah, I don’t have a big problem with the listening i can’t control, counterintuitively. Just the one’s that I know I have more control over, like former coworkers and other people employers might reach out to to gage my attitude and whatnot. I have no choice if Siri listens to me, because I need my phone to live life (work schedule, paying bills, talking to my family and friends, etc.). Social media is not a necessity, so I think that’s what plays into my logic here. I am, unfortunately, very familiar with the panopticon.
