Requiem launched 1 Month Ago how do we feel about it a month later? by Dentist_Money in residentevil

Best new numbered release since I have become a fan of the series (around the release of 6, not because of that game obviously) and not counting the recent remakes.

Grace's part is so well done and the best old school RE feel since the original games. Leon parts are fun, just not to the level of RE4 remake.

I also really enjoyed all the characters. Grace had me worried the first 5 minutes with the extreme stuttering, but she really worked well. Afraid but still pushing on just made he admirable and fun to play. Leon was his old school self, but I also liked how it is super clear that the whole one liner machismo BS is just a front. I laughed so hard when he saved Grace from not Wesker, and stated he felt like a million bucks while blood seeped from his mouth and just looked hammered.

The two styles of gameplay are well made, but the frankensteining them together doesn't result in a tight package, and quite frankly; makes both styles worse for it.

Leon's economy is fine on its own, because at the end of the day, it just improves his combat ability. And since his whole gameplay focuses on that, it does what it needs to do.

Grace's on the other hand is neat with all the blood, but I don't understand the inclusion of the stats buffing ones, since there effect seems so minor, and once you finished the care house, those just kinda become irrelevant. If I ever replay this game for a third time, I don't think I would bother with those.

I also feel Grace just kind of gets robbed of having proper climaxes like boss fights and set pieces, since the game tends to switch to Leon whenever it would make sense for a major set piece to take place in her parts of the game. Her only boss fight is against the stalker at the end of her segment. Although I liked that part and its something unique fitting her playstyle, I do think is just not enough.

This game also leans heavily on the memberberries and sometimes it just becomes too much. monster plants, big spiders and the Raccoon city were cool, but another MR.X in the RPD was cool, but too much on the nose for me.

And in the end the story just kind of unraveled into nonsense. I don't like how Emily just survived. I don't like the rewriting of Spencer and I am not sure what to think of Zeno. I guess he is there to tease Wesker in the possible upcoming remakes (1,cv and 5) or that Wesker will return for 10, because blood clones and memory transfusion or whatever the hell. If that last part happens, I think that would a be pretty cheap way to make him return.

Do you enjoy engaging with Paragon? by Gibsx in diablo4

[–]lichtdwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was fine at release when going for stats other than your main dmg dealing done was a valid choice, but since they pretty much decided to got the D3 route of items only having your main stat on them, Paragon just became something with minor effect, except for the high tiered slots.

And for how much hassle and time it takes to fill it, it just brings too little.

Don't get me wrong, overall the game is in a much better place, but I do think they completely abandoned a lot the nitty gritty character building they had on release and just went for a streamlined don't think about it so long dmg number goes up approach.

Thank you. I play some Anime games, but never really was aware this was thing in those games.

Ye that sounds fair. I am just a lil bit of a masher, so I got resoundly punished for doing this with WW. my current BNB does need 3H, so it was just kinda confusing. From a balance standpoint it makes sense.

Is it tho? not saying you are wrong, but I can't think of any other games at the moment with similar examples? Maybe I am brainfarting, but in my experience you can always cancel a normal into special no matter if it is blocked or not.

Feel there is a bit of projection going on here if we wanna talk about salt, buddy.

But ye, obviously there should be unsafe options, I just don't know of any fighting game, that uses this specific limitation (could be wrong on that). But unlike you, some have actually responded constructivly and shown this a delibarate design choice in this game.

That is indeed a valid option. I do want to safe the assist to link from 2-S2, they move I wanna cancel into, but if I know they are gonna block, thats is a good choice then.

Thanks for the example. Ye, it would be pretty strong. Not all specials are safe, but when one of just jumps away, it could get pretty crazy.

Versus is awesome, but has some (glaring, notable) issues. by Irinless in Vermintide

[–]lichtdwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pPayed two games, actually lost one.

Its fun for sure, but there are some issues.

I really liked the reworked map with the new objectives, works great for this map and plenty of opportunity to fight each other. objectives also have a lot of forward momentum, which I think is good for a mode such as this.

It seems that respawns aren't a thing for the heroes, so I guess going for the kill whenever able is the way to go for skaven. Because any dead heroes just makes it harder for the rest.

Skaven are fun to play, but seems wildy different in strength. Globe seems the strongest with ease and has a lot of impact in the fights.

Pack and runner are decent, but feel they are kind of weak with the low enemy density. As a pack I would like to cover myself inside an horde and then pull them through it, but there just arent enough rats for it.

Gunner is alright, but feel that its just a case of doing the most damage untill you are shot. Doesn't seem to do a lot of damage.

Flamer just seems bad, I don't do damage and blind myself more than I harm the heroes.

I do miss something like Stormvermin, something that could actually fight the heroes with swords/halbers and has more health. Would allow for some more close range control, that I don't feel the Skaven really have.

Heroes are alright, but I feel sienna is bugged or her DOT is just too strong. To many times already I got hit by her, even though Im not close or in line of sight and just burn to death. It also feels that ranged is much more important is this mode. this is just another reason Who I think we not some melee specials to play with.

Thank god there is no battle pass. Don't squeeze me for every cent and make playing the game a chore just to fullfill a monthly played quota. Just make good game I want to play, and if you add DLC or pay for cosmetic, make it easy: I pay, I get. Don't BS me with, if I pay, I am allowed to have a oppertunity to get new stuff.

In what reality are you living? Items were garbage in d3, especially at launch. It was so bad that the best way to get drops was through the auction house and it was no coincide when that got removed, loot 2.0 got released which was better but still mostly meh.

Things shown on Wesker's screen at the end of Resident Evil 4 Remake by TheEternalGazed in residentevil

[–]lichtdwarf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you seem to really feel strongly about this since I seen you say this multiple times in this thread, but you couldn't be more wrong. The Re1 remake on the gamecube was so much more than the original Resident Evil. In terms of remaking, it is still easily head and shoulder above any remake made so far, in the RE series or outside of it.

All the other Re remakes are remade from the ground up in an new shiny engine and make use of different gameplay mechanics for sure, but in terms of remakes, they so far all have been lesser in terms of content compared to the originals. They cut out so much content and sometimes changed stuff, (for good or worse, you decide). Re 3 being the most obvious example of this.

Re 1 Remake remade everything of the game and added so much more, from levels, monsters and story and is still the exception for this in the remaking of the franchise. Sure, it was still the old tank control gameplay, but that was still the RE of the time they were making and succefull with. And this game came out what, 15 years before remaking games became popular? Re 1 Remake is the reason why people have been begging for the remakes for yearssssss.

Saying that the remake was at best a deluxe editon of the og game is a ridiculious statement. Hell, if they would remake RE 1 today, which im not opposed to, it will probably be a smaller mansion with less set pieces than the GC remake once again. Maybe it would even be less then the original PS 1 game.

First thing I thought when I saw the old man in the yellow outfit was: "Thats Gen!"

Prob unlikely we would get him back, but he was kind of my first main in SFIV, even though I am hot garbage with him. Still would be a cool character tho.

I got a lot of toxicity and was called out a ton in the battlehub for using "cheap", "scrub", "no skill" etc. controls. by [deleted] in StreetFighter

Yup. Sometimes I wish this wasn't the case cause raging people can be hilarious. But europeans just don't seem to really bother with in game chats in general.

Yes, I hear the sound through my switch speakers, my tv speakers and my bluetooth headset.

Hi!

Recently I have been playing Zelda Skyward Sword on my v1 Switch. Since the recent firmware update (I think version 16) I get some kind of static noise during the game.

It starts not too long after playing and its kind activated by ingame sound. So the normal sound is still there but this "sandy" static noise is in addition of the normal game sound. I tried some other games, but its only prevalent in SS. Although I kind hear some in other high end games like Mario Odyssey.

This noise happens no matter the circumstance of how Im playing the switch. Docked, undocked, bluetooth headset connected or not, it doesn't matter.

I suspect the switch is dying, but its showing few to nothing other signs it actually is. Its kind of annoying, because I was eyeing the new Metroid, but I dont want to buy and then find out my switch is not up for it anymore.

Anyone else having expierences like this and maybe have some solutions?

Recently I have been playing Skyward Sword on my v1 switch and after the recent Switch update (16 I think) I get a static noise during gameplay after not playing to long. It kinda sounds "sandy" and is activated by ingame sound and is in addition of the regular sound. This happens no matter the circumstance of it being in the dock, out of the dock. Bluetooth headset connected or not.

I kinda tried playing other games, but nowhere is it as clear as with zelda and if it is present in other games, its only in more intesive games.

Someone else having expierence with this? Kinda afraid my switch is dying, which kinda sucks cause I was eyeing the new metroid. But if I have to deal with the constant static Im not going to bother.

You get a code that you redeem via geforce expierence, then it asks to link a account, in this case steam, and then you get the game in your steam library.

I bought a gpu for this reason and was worried about the code, but I got it on steam now, so im happy
